For women at average risk for breast cancer, screening mammograms are recommended beginning at age 40.

Early detection matters. Regular mammograms can find breast cancer before you notice symptoms, when it may be easier to treat.

If you have a family history of breast cancer or other risk factors, talk with your healthcare provider. You may need to begin screening earlier or have additional testing.

40 or older? Make your mammogram part of your routine health care.
