Sometimes injury or illness leaves patients unable to perform everyday tasks. After acute care, patients are often transferred to a rehab facility to help them regain independence.

In honor of National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, we're featuring Knoxville Rehabilitation Hospital. This inpatient rehab facility offers 24/7 medical care alongside extensive therapy tailored to patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.

After an injury and lengthy hospital stay, patients need time to recuperate and rehabilitate. Though the traditional hospital setting plays a vital role in emergent care, once patients are stabilized, a rehab hospital often better meets their needs.

Once a grocery store, this building was transformed to meet the county's needs as a health department.

The spacious commercial kitchen serves as a food service training room. The facility also features a large lab, a clinical area with several exam rooms, and an administrative office.
