Over the last few weeks, we’ve been sharing photos of our new space. One thing we’ve heard over and over is, “Wow, those rooms look huge!”

The truth? Camera lenses are funny. A wide-angle lens can make a room look bigger. A different f-stop can blur out what’s in the background. A carefully chosen perspective and lighting can draw your attention exactly where the photographer wants it to go.
Content creators know this well. Sometimes the perfect photo is surrounded by clutter just outside the frame.
Life can be like that too.

We can zoom in so closely on one problem, one mistake, one flaw, or one difficult moment that it begins to feel like the whole picture. We can focus on the crooked paint line, the unfinished project, the laundry pile, the remodeling mess, or the thing we haven’t quite figured out yet.

And because we see it every day, we often apologize for it.
But isn’t that life?

Most things happen in stages. Homes are remodeled one room at a time. Skills are learned one step at a time. Healing happens one moment at a time. Growth is rarely finished.
Sometimes we need to zoom in and pay attention to the details. Sometimes the details help us process things that feel really big. Sometimes things happen that should never have happened, and those experiences deserve our attention and care. But sometimes we also need to widen the lens and remember that the unfinished parts are not the whole story.
We are all works in progress.

The flaws, the messes, the growth, the repairs, and the beautiful moments can all exist in the same picture... unless you need to keep one part out of frame while you process it with your therapist later. That’s okay too.

And if you needed permission today to be a beautiful work in progress, here it is: You do not have to be finished to be worthy. You do not have to have it all figured out to be enough. The fact that you’re growing doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’re human.

Introducing: Rocky’s Scavenger Hunt! 🦝

Rocky has lost some of his favorite pictures in the waiting room and outside the door, and he needs your help finding them!

As you explore the space, keep your eyes peeled for Rocky’s hidden pictures and see if you can find them all. It’s a fun way to stay busy while waiting, and spend a little time with our favorite raccoon.

The next time you’re here, ask about Rocky’s Scavenger Hunt and see if you can help solve the mystery!

Next up: Our Snack Bar ☕🍿

A favorite addition to the new space is our snack bar! We’ll soon have coffee for caregivers, popcorn for families, and a few extra comforts to help make your visit a little more enjoyable.

You’ll also notice a change to our Treasure Trove. At our previous location, all of the prizes were kept together in one large basket. While fun, it could also feel overwhelming with so many choices at once. In our new space, we’ve separated items into smaller containers to make browsing feel more manageable and accessible for children who may become overstimulated by too many options.

It’s a simple change, but one that reflects our commitment to creating spaces that are thoughtful, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the children and families we serve.

Welcome to Camp Rocky Trail! 🌲🦝

Right next to the Feelings Fairy Forest, you’ll find Kymber’s office, also known as Camp Rocky Trail, where Rocky Raccoon and his woodland friends call home.

Designed as a peaceful woodland retreat, Camp Rocky Trail is a place where children can explore big feelings, build confidence, strengthen social skills, and discover new ways to navigate life’s adventures. With cozy natural touches and plenty of opportunities for imaginative play, this space helps children feel safe, supported, and free to be themselves. You might even find the softest boulder you’ve ever seen just waiting to be jumped on!

But keep an eye out. You never know when Rocky or one of his forest friends might make an appearance along the trail! With adjustable lighting, Camp Rocky Trail can feel like a bright afternoon exploring the woods or a cozy night gathered around the campfire as the moon peeks through the trees. Every setting creates a new adventure

At PCBH, every therapy space is thoughtfully designed to meet children where they are because healing begins where they feel comfortable.

Supporting children. Strengthening relationships.
