✨ Therapist Spotlight: Meet Annika Fairbairn, MA, LPC! ✨

Annika believes therapy is a place where you don’t have to carry life’s challenges alone. She works with clients to better understand themselves, navigate difficult experiences, and build new ways of responding to stress, relationships, and life’s transitions.

With experience supporting adults, teens, adolescents, parents, and families, Annika brings a thoughtful, trauma-informed approach to helping clients move toward lasting growth and emotional well being.

We’re also excited to offer therapy in both **English and German** with Annika!

Welcome to The Compassion Collaborative, Annika! 💙

Our office is closed today for the holiday.

We hope you are able to find a few moments of rest, connection, or grounding today, whether you are celebrating, spending time with loved ones, or simply getting through the day.

We also know this Fourth of July may feel complicated for many in our community. With active wildfires, fire restrictions, and many people feeling worried about safety, loss, and uncertainty in many ways, this may not feel like a typical holiday.

Today, we’re reflecting on the kind of community care that matters deeply in everyday life, including being there for each other, looking out for our neighbors, and protecting our shared home in Colorado.

Please follow local fire restrictions and emergency guidance, avoid fireworks where prohibited, and take care of yourselves this holiday weekend.

Wishing you a gentle and peaceful Fourth of July.

Today we recognize Juneteenth and celebrate the resilience, contributions, and history of Black communities. As we also recognize Pride Month, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a community where all people are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Self-care isn’t always bubble baths and spa days.

Sometimes it looks like:
* resting without guilt
* setting boundaries
* asking for help
* going outside for a few minutes
* taking a break from survival mode
* drinking water
* taking your meds
* texting a friend back
* going to therapy
* getting to bed on time
* giving yourself enough time to complete tasks
* eating meals to support your energy levels

Self-care doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. 💙

✨ Therapist Spotlight: Elizabeth "Liz" Jimenez, MS, LPCC

Some seasons of life feel heavier than others; when everything starts to pile up and it’s hard to know where to begin. Having steady, warm support and learning new tools to navigate it all can make a big difference.

Liz helps clients work through depression, trauma, and complex mental health challenges by providing care tailored to their individual needs, building coping skills and creating more stability in everyday life.

PTSD isn’t a sign that something is wrong with you.
It’s a sign that your brain learned something was dangerous- and it is trying to make sure it never happens again.

The problem is, that alarm system can stay “on” long after the danger has passed.

Through trauma-focused therapy, we can process past trauma and help your brain and body begin to recognize safety again, so you can feel more grounded, present, and more in control.

And in a world that can feel uncertain or overwhelming, it makes sense that your nervous system may stay on high alert. You’re not alone in that.

While we can’t control everything happening around us, we can learn ways to support our nervous system, reconnect with the present, take actions aligned with our values, and to engage in our community in a way that feels meaningful.

If it were as simple as “just stop overthinking,” you already would have. Anxiety isn’t just “in your head.”
It lives in your body, your nervous system, and your lived experiences. It’s your brain and body trying to protect you- sometimes a little too well.

That’s why managing anxiety isn’t about “just thinking differently”- it’s about learning how to work with your mind and body. 🌿

What helps you when your anxiety shows up? 💭

✨ Therapist Spotlight: Jacquie Leindecker, MA, LPCC

Some people carry the pressure to be perfect. Others feel like they’re barely holding it together. Jacquie works with clients who are tired of carrying everything alone.
Through curiosity, collaboration, and honoring the stories each person carries, she works alongside adults, teens, children, couples, and families as they navigate stress, trauma, and change, helping them discover new possibilities forward.
Together, you can explore the story you’ve been living, and what it might look like to live the next chapter even more authentically.

🌿 Change can feel uncomfortable, even scary. But sometimes that discomfort is a sign that something within you is asking for more space, more honesty, or more alignment.

Growth isn’t always about becoming someone new- it’s often about returning to your authentic self. 🌱
