Why massage care?

First and foremost, booking a massage allows you the chance to breathe.

An hour or more to turn off your brain (and your phone) completely.

Deep breaths, essential oils, healthy touch. Each are tools to help you achieve a mediation state in your massage session and regulate your nervous system.

We were made to be in tune with the cycles of our bodies, our emotions, our planet.

As you begin to regulate your nervous system and breathe deeper, your muscles are already beginning the work. Stress and emotions are held in our bodies, there is no separating body/mind/spirit no matter how hard we try.

From here, once you allow yourself to relax we can begin the therapeutic bodywork of cupping, stretching, and working into the muscles releasing the tension stored so deeply.

Massage increases circulation and mobility, helps regulate the nervous system, supports healthy sleep cycles and stable moods, and decreases adhesion in the body.

If you wish, your therapist can help advise you on certain stretches, exercises, changes to make in your life to ease pain.

Massage is an ancient form of healing. Learn to give yourself grace and take care of and honor this sacred vessel that is your body.

Are you ready to start your healing journey?

Let me introduce myself!

I’m Chelsea Carpenter, your massage therapist / owner of Tava Massage & Bodywork. Owning a massage business in Manitou has been a dream for years, and now I finally get to serve my community!

✨ I am a lover. I love people, the earth, and the beautiful invisible energy/spirit that ties us all together. My goal in life is to help support you in being your best self. I don’t believe that anyone should ever apologize for taking up space, or not shaving their leg hair for that matter. Tava was created as a space to let you be you, breathe, and heal.

In my spare time I play music in A Carpenter’s Daughter , a local folk rock band. If I’m not playing music you can catch me walking my pup Sammy or camping with my amazing husband and weirdo friends.

I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2021, working in different settings but most consistently medical massage with veterans. Before becoming certified in massage, I was a youth mentor for years working in human services, residential treatment, wilderness therapy, paddle boarding camps, etc. I am grateful now to have one on one time with my clients to either hold quiet space or chat about whatever is on your mind.

The name Chelsea actually means “sea port” and I am honored to be a safe dock for the ship of your mind, body, and spirit. I look forward to meeting you :)
