This mom had a history of fast labors so we knew to watch closely when things picked up. Well, we still were very surprised when it went from, “I think my water may have broke”, no contractions yet, to a baby in 1.5 hours!! Insane!
Baby was born in the water at home (as planned) before I or the midwives had a chance to get there! Everyone was perfect and healthy! I offered to do some photos for this family since it all happened so fast and I didn’t make it.
I’ll try to remember to post some of those photos soon.

Some moms I talk to ask if it’s too early to hire me and I always say no! The earlier you hire me, the more time we have for us to bond and for me to be a trusted person in your birth space.
This mom hired me early on in her pregnancy and we had so much time to chat that by the time we met at her 32 week appt, it’s like we knew each other already. I was so excited to be there to witness the birth of their 10 pound 3 ounce baby boy!!
Even more excited, because this week they reached out to me to help support them for their next baby coming next spring!

Baby Girl wanted to make her story super exciting and flip breech last minute. 😩 Mom, of course had a totally different vision for her labor and birth, but learned quickly that you’ve got to be fluid and sometimes plans have unfortunately change. Both mom dad did such a beautiful job with the last minute path change and keeping themselves involved. I loved supporting this first time family and watching their excitement grow as baby time got closer.
When cesareans happen, that’s not where your choices end. You still have say in decisions to keep this birth feeling like yours. 🫶🏽

I enjoyed helping support this sweet first time family 🤍 I knew from the time I met them they were going to be amazing parents! Mom was so strong throughout her labor and dad held and supported her with such love. Baby boy is a lucky guy🫶🏽

"When I moved to Colorado Springs I was pretty far along in my pregnancy. I knew I wanted to go completely natural with no epidural and needed someone with more expertise. Amanda was recommended to me and I’m glad she was ! She was very kind , knowledgeable and emphasized she’ll support me in any aspect I needed . I didn’t feel force to birth in any way other than the one I planned and felt confident that I would still be supported if I changed it last minute. I learned a lot of what is MY choice during my labor and that I have the ultimate say so . I wish I had Amanda all my births , she was calm and reassuring the whole time .
