✨️Fun Fact Friday ✨️

When I first started 42 Klicks, I baked 250 cookies, hand stamped all the boxes, and drug my mom with me to deliver them to every single Colorado Springs Fire Department Colorado Springs Fire Department. If you know ANYTHING about me you know how terrifying that was, BUT I did it and met some of the amazing people who protect this city, and got a few firehouse tours. Fun fact, I learned years later that the cookies probably went in the trash because they weren't store bought 😭😂

Fast forward ten years. I am still networking with cookies, but I am not baking nor am I hand stamping anything. Being a business owner is hard and a lot of times you don't realize how far you have come until you stop and look back at the beginning. I had no money, no idea how to start or run a business, and I was nannying while I tried to figure it out. I was just a girl with a table and a dream. I am still a girl with a table and a dream, but the dream is 10x bigger!

Thank you mom for spending an entire Saturday with me at firehouses (and doing a lot of the talking). Thank you Dr. Erica | Your Chiropractic Graphic Designer for the amazing new branding. Thank you Confections by Charlee for always delivering absolutely stunning cookies. Last but not least, thanks to all of you who have gotten me here. All of you that trust me with your bodies, secrets, families, etc. All the cheerleaders and people who knew I could do it even when I didn't and still don't some times ❤️

✨️Fun fun fact...I got absolutely no patients from my firehouse rounds, but it showed me that I could do scary things...even when I felt like I was going to throw up every time I rang the doorbell 😂

Lovelies, welcome to the NEW 42 Klicks Chiropractic! When businesses get a new look, the tagline usually goes something like, "new look, same quality". Let's be real. This is not the same 42 Klicks from 2016 and I am not the same Dr. J. Your girl has evolved and it was time for my branding to do the same! HUGE, HUGE shout out to my girl, Dr. Erica of Dr. Erica | Your Chiropractic Graphic Designer! I was a HUGE pain in the butt and gave her a run for her money, but she rose to the occasion, and produced something that is not only beautiful, but me! Things are changing around here and I am not just talking about the branding! So, hold on tight lovelies because more things are coming your way!

Which brings me to my next addition! I am officially certified in dry needling! It doesn't mean I just get to add more letters to my name. It means treatment options are expanding. Love it or hate it (I hate it) it is effective, and has been added to the booking menu for your booking pleasure!

I have been a business owner for a decade! In my head, that sounds crazy to me. I won't say that it feels like yesterday that I started out all wide-eyed and bushy-tailed because that would be a big fat lie. It has been a long road. A road filled with laughter, tears, frustration, defeat, and the constant hustle. Some days I want to throw up my hands and quit, but then I tear up thinking about all of you and how this is what I am meant to do, and the Universe refuses to let me do anything else. So, here we are at year 10. I have learned so much, and I know many more lessons are coming my way. Your girl is exhausted, but excited about all of the possibilities and the changes that are coming. Lovelies, thank you for joining me on this crazy journey and continuing to root me on and be in my corner. Some of you have been with me since the very beginning, and some have just jumped on this ride. No matter where you fall, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of my story!

June is a busy month around here, but today, today we celebrate this handsome guy! To the guy that goes along with all my crazy ideas, talks me off the ledge, and agrees to shovel rocks because I decided I want a garden 😂 Happy birthday, my little chiltepin! May the key lime pie fill your soul, the sun shine, the birds chirp, and the day goes your way! I love you ❤️

Y'all, all my babies are special, but this is one for the BOOKS! Mama comes waddling in at 38 weeks and 2 days with sciatic pain, and just over being pregnant. She gets adjusted and waddles to the bathroom while her husband gets adjusted. Comes back in the room, sits down, and is laughing, and joking like usual. They leave to go to her OB appointment and I get a call maybe an hour or two later that I broke her water. Now, let's back up. So apparently, her water broke after being adjusted and she waddled to the bathroom, but she said NOTHING! Chiropractic can cause you to go into labor, but this is a first for me! Welcome to the world Miss Lila! I think this makes us bonded ❤️

Look at those babies! On this day in 2018, on a random Monday, on a whim, we met at the DMV (sexy, I know), and got our marriage license. With only two people present we sat around Tyler's coffee table, laughed, joked, his friend said some words, and we put our signatures on the line. It was nothing fancy. No bells and whistles. Just two people embarking on a crazy adventure. This is the only picture of that day.

We have done things our way even when others don't quite understand, but that is just who we are. Two crazy people marching to the beat of our own drum. It has been eight wild years, and we are still doing things our own way. Here is to more love, passion, adventures, and sitting by each other in silence! Love you my little chiltepin ❤️
