Summer can bring travel, changing routines, and fuller schedules. Even during a season that is supposed to feel relaxing, it can be easy to overlook your own well-being.

Take a moment to slow down and check in with yourself. You do not have to change everything at once. One small, intentional choice can be a meaningful place to start.

Make your mental health a priority this summer.

Sometimes, it can feel like you’ve tried everything, yet the weight of depression remains. If medication or therapy hasn’t provided enough relief, please know you still have options.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or TMS, is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared treatment option for major depressive disorder, often considered when antidepressant medications haven’t provided enough relief or have caused difficult side effects.

TMS uses focused magnetic pulses to stimulate specific areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. Because treatment is targeted rather than circulating throughout the body like medication, it does not cause the systemic side effects commonly associated with antidepressants.

TMS is performed while you’re awake, requires no anesthesia, and typically involves no downtime. You can return to your normal daily activities immediately after a session.

Feeling stuck doesn’t mean you’re out of options. Reach out to our team to schedule a consultation and learn whether TMS may be a good fit for you.

Mental health affects people from every background, culture, and community.

Yet many individuals still face barriers to getting support, whether because of stigma, lack of access, cultural misunderstandings, or concerns about being judged.

July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about these challenges and encourage open conversations about mental health.

Everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported when seeking care.

What is one thing you wish more people understood about mental health?

☀️ Before the school year starts, summer can be a good time to focus on mental health.

For teens and young adults struggling with depression, TMS may be an option to discuss with a mental health provider.

TMS is FDA-cleared as an adjunct treatment for Major Depressive Disorder in adolescent patients ages 15–21. TMS is non-invasive, does not require anesthesia, and has no recovery time, so patients can return to normal activities after treatment.

A consultation can help determine whether TMS may be appropriate based on symptoms, treatment history, and individual needs.

Schedule a TMS consultation with Bright Futures Psychiatry today.

If you or someone you love is experiencing a mental health crisis, call or text 988, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.

You wouldn’t wait for your engine to seize before checking the oil, right?

Most of us are pretty good about routine maintenance for our trucks, tools, lawnmowers, and equipment. But when it comes to our own mental health, it’s easy to keep pushing forward until the check engine light has been blinking for a while.

As Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, this is a good reminder: checking in on your mental health does not mean something is wrong with you. It means you’re paying attention before stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, or anger start taking over the driver’s seat.

A mental health check-in can be simple. A conversation. A tune-up. A chance to look at how things are really running and what support might help you keep moving forward.

You don’t have to wait for a breakdown to get support.

Bright Futures Psychiatry is here to help men take that next step with practical, compassionate mental health care.
