Hunter is three months out from a BEAR ACL with Ossio anchor fixation (BioBEAR). He is one of our Greco Roman wrestlers at the United States Olympic Training Center, on track to compete in the 2028 Olympic Games. He’s crushing his recovery with the help of a masterful trainer, Jess Galey, down at the Olympic Training Center. We love where his recovery process is. Numerous applications for bio-scaffold patches.
In this case, we utilized the Anika Integrity patch on a healthy 38-year-old male that sustained an injury on the job. Partial patellar tendon tear at the tibial tuberosity insertion. He was treated conservatively over the last 4 to 5 months with therapy and two PRP shots. Continued to have pain and weakness.
Fixated with the hyaluronic acid-based Integrity patch with resorbable PLGA tissue tacks, which also were also able to be fixated to the bony insertion site. Closed the paratenon over the patch and tissue tacks.
