COVID-19 Updates from Peak Performance Including Telehealth!
We wanted to update you on what we are doing in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Physical therapists are considered essential personnel per the Department of Labor, therefore we are still open and are prioritizing cases that are more critical.
All of our staff members are practicing extra safety precautionary measures by wearing N95 masks and gloves during treatment sessions and are changing the way we treat so as to not be in direct face to face contact with anyone. We have greatly reduced the number of staff and patients who are in the clinic simultaneously.
We are encouraging our patients to do what they feel is necessary for them, and we are also now actively offering Telehealth sessions during this time as a way to continue to serve our patients’ needs.
More About Telehealth:
Our Telehealth experience has been great so far! We have been receiving very positive feedback from patients who have been finding it a valuable way to still receive our input, from guiding exercise instruction, giving advice on how to perform functional tasks safely, and even which pillow someone should use to help ease their neck pain at night.
How It Works:
Telehealth sessions are generally 25-30 minutes in length. They can be covered by insurance at a rate of once/week. We also have a self-pay option for those without insurance or those wishing to be seen more than once a week for Telehealth services (see below).
Our Telehealth platform, Doxy.me, is very user friendly. At the start of your session, you will receive an email from your therapist’s Peak Performance email account. This email contains a link to “sign in to our waiting room” on Doxy.me. Your therapist will then initiate the session on our end and you will be able to see us and we will be able to see you!
Is Telehealth covered by Insurance?
Yes! In Colorado, Telehealth is now covered by the majority of health insurance carriers in response to the COVID-19 virus situation as a way for patients to continue having their physical therapy services during this time.
Insurances covering Telehealth for PT services in Colorado: Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, TriWest (VA), Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, and Humana.
Our self-pay rate for a 30 minute Telehealth session is $45.
How Do I Schedule a Telehealth Session at Peak Performance?
Just call our office at (719) 635-6800 or email us at [email protected] to set up a Telehealth session with any of our therapists! We would love to be able to continue working with you during this time if you feel you shouldn’t come into the clinic in person.
