Not bad for a late start and a first time!! 🌱 🎃 Four varieties are shown here (not including the 5 good Jack Be Little pumpkins I got). The green ones are underripe, but with the frost expected tonight, I didn't want to lose them, so we'll see what we can do with them. I kept everyone on the vine for as long as I could!
Overall winner for my garden this year: Jack O' Lantern by a long shot! It gave me 4 ripe pumpkins, plus a second wave of 3 more pumpkins. If I started on time, I think they would have ripened (more) on the vine!
The other ones were fun to grow, but I only got: at most 5 from the little varieties, one Connecticut Field (though this is my favorite one), and two hopefully-ripe-enough Sugar Pie pumpkins that I don't remember planting (but I must have because I found the labeled stick floating in the garden 🤣). [Edit: Must have been 3 Connecticut Field pumpkins because while removing the vines, it seemed all connected.]
Next year, I will start earlier, use less mulch for germination (maybe even pre-warm the soil if I need to), and expand!
