New addition to the personal library. 📚
I’ve been quiet on here lately…there’s been a lot happening behind the scenes. A season of transition, preparation, and intentional shifts in how I serve.
This book, Testimony Therapy, connects to the community engagement work I’m facilitating, particularly around the power of sharing and witnessing each others stories.
There is something powerful about having the opportunity to share our experiences, give language to what we’ve lived through, and have those experiences witnessed, honored, and validated.
I’m equally interested in what happens on the other side of that interaction, because how we listen matters.
When someone entrusts us with their story, we have an opportunity to do more than simply hear what happened. We can hold space in a way that helps them recognize their own strengths, access the wisdom and resources they’ve developed along the way, and make meaning of their experiences.
Listeners benefit from this witnessing as well.
When we learn how to become more compassionate, validating, and empowering witnesses to the human experience. We create opportunities for deeper connection, healing, and collective resilience.
There is so much we can learn from one another when we create intentional spaces for our stories to be shared and honored.
Looking forward to sharing more about what I’ve been working on.
When you share something meaningful about your life, what helps you feel truly heard and understood?
