🍔🧑‍🍳 Our Virginia Beach Behavioral office hosted a cookout for our RBTs and BTs! From Maxim team member Alexsis Miller: "It was a great afternoon filled with good food and the chance to connect with our technicians between their sessions. A huge thank you to my coworkers for helping make it happen and to my fiancé for grilling for us! I could not have done it without the help of everyone here at Maxim."

We interviewed on of our nurses, Angela Osborne, to learn more about her journey from joining us in 2022 to becoming the nurse she is today.

Through our Novice Nurse Program, Osborne strengthened her clinical expertise while gaining the confidence to excel in high-acuity, in-home care and deliver compassionate, patient-centered support.

"I've always loved people and helping others," says Osborne. "I try to be a light in times of darkness."

Osborne says our Novice Nurse Program is important because management understands the needs of novice nurses coming out of school and they make sure they have the training they need before serving patients. She adds that our managers encourage novice nurses to ask as many questions as they need, and continue to check on them during the program, which made Osborne feel important and supported.

"Maxim wanted me to succeed—not just for me, but for my patient and her family," says Osborne. "That meant everything to me."

What is "Intensive Behavioral Support"?

Intensive behavioral support (IBS) provides structured, individualized assistance to individuals with complex behavioral needs and developmental disabilities. IBS focuses on building functional skills, reducing challenging behavior and promoting increased independence across daily activities. These services also offer temporary relief to primary caregivers by supporting individuals in the home or community when family members are unavailable.

Meet one of our Caregiver of the Year Nominees! 👋💙
In Tacoma, WA, Kaitlyn Patrick has been a Certified Behavior Technician with us for 4 years.

💬 "She's taken [her client, Bobby] from someone who really struggled to communicate… now he's able to make friends and integrate in the classroom with almost no supports," says Virginia Butt, a fellow Maxim Behavior Tech.

✨Kaitlyn's purpose: "It brings me joy. It brings me purpose. The work that I do is incredibly important to me, because raising a child is very difficult. Having a child with special needs is even more difficult than I could ever imagine. But if I can help teach those skills to a child, and to the family as well, that's going to improve the quality of life."

Spend the week with our Senior Experience Specialist, Nyima Amatul-Muid, in the Lone Star State ✈️💼🧳

In April, our Communications & Experience team traveled from our HQ in Maryland to Dallas, Texas to help orchestrate our annual National Meeting.
