Mr. Marty Deloy Kelley of Colquitt died Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at his residence. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Colquitt First Baptist Church with Kevin Lovering and Rev. Craig Hartzog officiating. Interment to follow at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Colquitt First Baptist Church.

Mr. Kelley was the owner of Kelley Crop Insurance of Colquitt and a member of Colquitt First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Cheri Kelley of Colquitt, GA; one son, Marty (Tabatha) Kelley, Jr. of Colquitt, GA; one daughter, Cassie Trawick of Colquitt, GA; five grandchildren, Brody Kelley, Branson Trawick, Abby Kelley, Bindi Trawick, and Laney Kelley; one sister, Marsha Krawelsky; one nephew, Shane Kelley of Montgomery, AL; one niece, Tabitha Johnson of Colquitt, GA; and one life-long friend, Randy Glenn of Blakely, GA. Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by one son, Rusty Kelley; his parents, Deloy and Pauline Griffin Kelley; and one sister, Brenda Kelley.

Mrs. Carolyn Worsley of Colquitt died Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at her residence. Funeral services will be Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Colquitt Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Poppell officiating. Interment will follow at the Colquitt City Cemetery with Dawson Worsley, Craig Huggins, Dr. Mallory McRae, Lawton Heard, Cody Vaughn, and Ronnie Posey serving as active pall bearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Everson, Hilton Lashley, and Shelton Hill. Visitation will be Friday, May 22, 2026, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Colquitt Free Will Baptist Church.

Mrs. Worsley was a member of Climax Baptist Church. She worked as city clerk for the City of Colquitt, clerk for the City of Colquitt Police Department, and 25 years in the Miller County Tax Commissioner's office serving as Miller County Tax Commissioner for 16 years.

She is survived by her son, John E. "Jay" (Amy) Worsley, III, of Bainbridge, GA; one granddaughter, Madison Brooke (Ethan) Gibson of Bainbridge, GA; one grandson, Dawson Lee Worsley of Bainbridge, GA; and one great granddaughter. Mrs. Worsley was preceded in death by her husband, John Earl Worsley, Jr.; her parents, J.P. and Lennie Benton Dawson; one brother, Carl Dawson, and one sister, Lecia Bell Roberts.

Jeffrey Daniel Small of Colquitt passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the age of 62.

Per his wishes, Jeff will be cremated, and no services are planned.

Jeff was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on August 15, 1963. In 1972, he moved with his family to Colquitt, where he spent most of his life. From an early age, Jeff developed a passion for deer hunting and was always in search of that “big” buck.

He attended Miller County High School and Southwest Georgia Academy before continuing his education at Albany Technical College, where he studied diesel mechanics. Jeff had a lifelong love for working with heavy equipment and being outdoors, which eventually led him to establish his own business, Jeff Small Excavating Inc. Throughout the area, he became known as one of the finest heavy equipment operators around.

Above all, Jeff will be remembered for his compassionate heart and willingness to help anyone in need. He volunteered his time helping with food deliveries through Colquitt Methodist Church food bank ministry until his health declined.

Jeff is survived by his mother, Jean Small; one sister, Joanna (Wade) Everson; one niece, Kaley (Chris) Moates; and one great-niece, Rayleigh Moates. He is proceeded in death by his father, Dr. Howard Gordon Small Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Howard Gordon Small, Sr. and Rhoda “Munk” Elliott; and his maternal grandparents, Daniel Lester and Katie Jones. He also leaves behind long-time special friends Janice Obryan and William Foxworth of Chipley, Florida and Elizabeth Lewis of Panama City Beach, Florida.

Maureen Cook

Mrs. Virginia Maureen Tillman Cook, age 88, of Colquitt, GA, died Friday, May 1, 2026, just two days shy of her 89th birthday.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Colquitt Methodist Church with Dr. Matthew Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Cook's Cemetery at Cook's Union Church.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM at the church.

Known to all simply as Maureen, Mrs. Cook had a gift for making the world around her more beautiful. A talented interior decorator, she spent years transforming homes and spaces across southwest Georgia, and beyond, blending her artistic eye with each client's vision. She took genuine joy in her work, but for Maureen, it was never really about the business of it. It was about helping people feel at home.

That same spirit defined her life beyond decorating. A devoted member of Colquitt Methodist Church, she served in many roles over the years and gave generously of her time and talents to her church family and her community. She had a true servant's heart and used her gifts to bring comfort, beauty, and joy to others. Whether she was helping someone in need, welcoming a neighbor, or quietly attending to those around her, she lived out her faith in countless small and faithful ways.

Above all, Maureen loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her husband, children, and grandchildren meant the world to her, and she delighted in every moment spent with them. She took quiet pride in their lives and accomplishments and loved them deeply and unconditionally.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Lavon Cook; and her parents, Frank and Ruby Tillman.

She is survived by her children, Lindsey (Melissa) Cook and Cindee (Kevin) Riordan; her grandchildren,Christopher Cook, Patrick (Lauren) Cook, Catherine (Mike) Mirzabeigi, Elizabeth Riordan (Mitch Furr),Mary Virginia Riordan, Alex Watkins, and Emma Watkins; her great-grandchildren, Miles, Murphy, and Lane Cook; her sister, Marguerite Lavender; her brother, Nolan Tillman; and her sister-in-law, Brenda(Larry) Stephens.

Mr Johnny Addison of Colquitt died Saturday, May 2, 2026 at South East Health in Dothan. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 2:00 PM Graveside at Bellview Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be his loving grandsons and Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Roland and Alan Roland. No visitation.

Mr Addison was a retired welder.

He is survived by three daughters, Tammie Addison of Colquitt, Carla (Jay) Myers of Bainbridge and Stacey (Jimmy) Johnson of Colquitt, Eight grandchildren, Cody Moore, Zac Jaye, Preston (Brooke) Poitevint, Collin (Sage) Ward, Ronnie Myers, Jayson (Brandi) Myers, Briar (Michaela) Johnson, Thorne Johnson, his dog Goose and fifteen great grandchildren. One sister, Glenda (Joe) Cook of Colquitt, one brother, Toby (Ann) Addison of Colquitt and his special friend Linda Addison of Colquitt. Funeral services will be Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bryan Gainous officiating. Interment to follow at Bellview Cemetery with Garrett Roland, Tim Cook, Timmy Donley, Charles Lingle, Jason Varnum, Sean Hall, Jerry Gurski and Luke Cook serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Friday, May 1, 2026, from 10:00-11:00.

Mr. Mott was a retired police officer and had served in the Georgia National Guard.

He is survived by two daughters, Laura Kate (William) McCorkle of Cairo, GA, and Serena Faith (James) Beckett of Madison GA; one grand son, William McCorkle IV; mother, Sara Mott of Donalsonville, GA; four brothers, Ed Mott of Colquitt, GA, Tim Cook of Colquitt, GA, Eric Mott of Mississippi, and Deric Mott of Dothan, AL; and three sisters, Kim Mott of Mississippi, Crystal Maxwell of Donalsonville, GA, and Amy (Timmy) Donley of Colquitt, GA.

Mr. Carroll Douglas "Buddy" Cook of Colquitt, died Thursday, April 23, 2026, at his residence. Funeral services will be Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Cook's Union Church with Rev. Jean Watson and Rev. Paul Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Cook's Cemetery with David Cook, Jimmy Atkinson, Cade Moore, Darrell Peter, Scott Cole, and John Ware serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Monroe Cook, Nathan Tomlinson, Buddy Baker, Joel Rackley, Brannon Cook, and Michael Murray. Visitation will be Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Carroll Douglas “Buddy” Cook died peacefully at his residence on April 23, 2026. He was born on March 20, 1943 to Clyve Monroe and Mary Alma Cook. He met the love of his life, Gennie, and married her on January 13, 1962. He was a member of Cook’s Union Church. Buddy loved tinkering on cars, playing an occasional round of golf, even scoring a hole in one in 2012, and singing karaoke at the lake with his friends and family. He loved everyone, but his favorite people were his grandchildren and his great-grandchild.

He had many accomplishments including retiring as a lab engineer with the Georgia Department of Transportation at the age of 48. After retiring from the Georgia Department of Transportation, he opened Town and Country Motors, which he ran for 20 years.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gennie Cook of Colquitt, GA, daughter, Carol Jean Peter (Gary) of Colquitt, GA, son, Bennie Wayne Cook (Patrick McGee) of Valdosta, GA, daughter Lyn Cook Moore (Randy) of Whigham, GA, grandchildren, Candace Skyler Merkison (Michael) of Colquitt, GA, Randall Colby Moore (Lauren) of Whigham, GA, Colton Cade Moore (Catlin) of Whigham, GA, Darrell Lee Peter (Katie) of Iron City, GA, Jayson Rathel of Connecticut, Clifford Earl Bennett (Britt), and one great-grandchild, Braxton Lane Moore, of Whigham, GA, two sisters, Lenora Gregory of Leesburg, GA, and Patricia Atkinson of Donalsonville, GA, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Tammy Cook, father Clyve Cook, mother Mary Alma Cook, brothers Carl Cook, Jimmy Cook, Wayne Cook, Glen “Pee-Wee” Cook, and two sisters Inez Tomlinson and Glenda Sue Carlton.

Interment will follow at Cook's Cemetery with Clint Cleveland, Chris Cleveland, Hamilton Cook, Taylor Cook, John Williams, Jr. and Alan Daniels serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Long was a member of Cook's Methodist Church and was a farmer.

She is survived by one son, Trey (Mandy) Long of Colquitt, GA; one daughter, Carla (Joel) Alday of Colquitt, GA; four grandchildren, Ty (Millie) Long, Fletcher Long, Sutton Alday, and Drew Alday; one great granddaughter, Oakleigh Long; two brothers, Rex (Donna) Cook of Colquitt, GA and Joe (Terri) Cook of Colquitt, GA; one sister, Sheila (John) Williams of Colquitt, GA; and one sister-in-law, Esther Cleveland of Colquitt, GA. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Long, and her parents, Dole Hamilton and Eunice Davis Cook, Sr.

Mrs. Ethel Mae Schwartz of Damascus, formerly of Hummelstown, PA, died Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Wilson Hospice House in Albany, GA. A memorial service will be planned for a later date in Hummelstown, PA.

Mrs. Schwartz was an archivist with the Hershey Historical Society and was a member of Fishburn United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Doreen (Robert) Worsley of Damascus, GA; one granddaughter, Erica (Eric) Nelson of Harrisburg, PA; and one great-grandson, Tyler Weary. Mrs. Schwartz was preceded in death by one son, Edward Schwartz; her parents, Cecil Vernon and Mary Elizabeth Heisey Via; and one sister, Verna Schwartz.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 13, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with John Edward Wells, Glenda Duke, and Dianne Brackin speaking. Interment will follow at Cooks Cemetery with John Edward Wells, Preston Clenney, Jeff Williams, Dylan Brackin, Charles Hart, and Phillip Jones serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Monday, April 13, 2026, from 2:00-3:00 PM at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bobbie was well known for her strong work ethic and dedication in everything she did. Over the years, she worked at Dickie Sewing Factory, Thomas and Betts, and Amoco Fabrics in Bainbridge. Even after long days, she continued her hard work by cooking at the original Moby Dick at night. She also served as manager of Hart’s Grocery and later, Red’s Liquors.

Mrs. Bobbie truly loved people, which is why she chose to make Seminole Manor her home—so she could be surrounded by others and share in their company. Her kindness, warmth, and tireless spirit touched many lives. She will be deeply remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Bobbie is survived by two daughters, Glenda Hart Duke of Colquitt, GA, and Lucrecia Dianne (Stanley) Brackin of Colquitt, GA; five grandchildren, Lucas (Shelby) Brooks, Justin Brooks, Robby (Kelly) Amerison, Dylan Brackin, and Anita Brackin; and five great grandchildren, Carson Brooks, Harper Brooks, Jaxon Brackin, Wrenley Brackin, and Raelynn Engram. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Duke; her parents, Blumer and Beadie Ann Roberts Stinson; one brother, Junior Stinson; and three sisters, Betty Lou Stinson, Nell Cross, and Dorothy Jones.
