🍪❤️ Sometimes, Love Comes in a Cookie

At Autumn Trace Columbia City, Head Chef Stephanie Bowser knows that food is about so much more than what’s on the plate.

She works to prepare delicious meals for our community members, while taking the time to learn their preferences and make special accommodations whenever she can. For Stephanie, cooking is one more way to show someone they are valued, and cared for.

And sometimes…that care comes fresh from the oven. 🍪

We’re excited to share a little more of Stephanie’s story in our September Autumn Trace Columbia City Newsletter—and there’s a sweet surprise coming with it!

👩‍🍳🍪 Stephanie has agreed to share one of her favorite cookie recipes with us!

If you'd like to have our next newsletter delivered right to your email let us know

📱 Call or text Debora, our Community Relations Director, at 574-626-8463 and ask to be added to the newsletter list.

You’ll definitely want to save room for this issue! ❤️🍪

🤝 Building Connections. Strengthening Our Community. Serving Seniors Better.

What a wonderful turnout for today's Geriatric Networking Group at Autumn Trace Columbia City!

The professionals who gather each month share a common goal: building a strong network of resources and relationships so together we can better serve seniors and their families throughout our community. It was inspiring to see so many caring people exchanging ideas, making connections, and learning more about one another.

And since community was the theme of the morning, we decided to buy local for breakfast! ❤️ The Confectioner's Cauldron treated us to pigs in a blanket and ham, egg & cheese hand pies—and more than a few people said they were the best they'd ever had!

Those who stayed afterward for a tour received one more local treat: Maple Syrup Cotton Candy from Beachler's Sugar Bush in Claypool! 🍁

Thank you to everyone who joined us today. It's an honor for Autumn Trace to host such a kind and caring group of professionals who are making a difference in the lives of seniors every single day.

When we know each other, we can better help the people who need us. That's what this group is all about. ❤️

🎸 It’s ’50s Week at Autumn Trace Columbia City! 🎸

Jimmy dug through his closet until he found the perfect T-shirt for the occasion—and we think he absolutely nailed it! 😎

He asked Kelcey, our Resident Aide extraordinaire, to snap a photo with him and made sure to tell her he was hoping it would make it onto Facebook.

Well, Jimmy… how could we possibly say no? ❤️

Let’s show Jimmy—and that very cool vintage hot rod T-shirt—some Facebook love! Drop him a ❤️, 👍, or a comment below and let him know just how great he looks! We'll make sure Jimmy gets the messages!

It's Staff Spotlight Friday!

Sometimes it's the smallest acts of kindness that leave the biggest mark on someone's heart.

Every day, Heather Cody, our incredible Business Manager, and Dorothy Keck, our tireless Life Enhancement Director, deliver the mail to our community members. But one day they looked at each other and thought, "Wouldn't it be nice if mail delivery came with a little extra joy?"

So they created a mail cart filled with snacks, refreshing drinks, and smiles.

No one asked them to do it.

There wasn't a committee meeting or a new policy.

It simply came from two hearts that genuinely care.

That's who Heather Cody and Dorothy Keck are—and that's who we strive to be at Autumn Trace Columbia City.

Our team doesn't just come to work to complete a job. They come looking for ways to make someone's afternoon a little brighter, someone's day a little happier, and someone's life a little richer. They understand that kindness isn't found only in the big moments—it's often tucked inside small gestures, like a favorite snack, a cold drink, and a warm smile delivered right to your door.

Those moments remind our community members that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Heather and Dorothy, thank you for showing us that compassion is measured not by what we have to do, but by what we're willing to do simply because we care.

You make Autumn Trace more than a place to live—you help make it feel like home. ❤️
