About Recovery Centers of Montana
Recovery Centers of Montana (RCM) provides compassionate, evidence-based substance use disorder treatment across multiple ASAM levels of residential care. Our Ranch and Lodge programs serve adults seeking lasting recovery in structured, clinically supported environments. We are expanding our medical infrastructure and looking for skilled RNs who want to grow with us.
Position Summary
RCM is hiring two Staff Registered Nurses β one dedicated to RCM Ranch and one dedicated to RCM Lodge. Each nurse serves as the primary on-site medical resource for their assigned facility, responsible for medication management, health monitoring, nursing assessments, and medical coordination. The two nurses will work collaboratively to ensure consistent medical standards across both locations. As RCM develops higher ASAM levels of care, both positions are designed to evolve into lead clinical nursing roles.

Primary Responsibilities
Medication Management
Serve as the primary medication manager for your assigned RCM facility
Administer, document, and monitor all client medications in compliance with physician-approved protocols and Montana scope-of-practice standards
Conduct medication reconciliation at admission, throughout the client stay, and at discharge
Maintain accurate and compliant medication records in the Alleva EHR system
Support medication-assisted treatment (MAT) protocols in coordination with the Medical Director or prescribing provider
Health Monitoring & Nursing Assessment
Complete nursing assessments at or near the time of each client admission
Monitor clients for signs of withdrawal, medical distress, or acute behavioral health concerns using standardized tools (CIWA-Ar, COWS)
Escalate medical concerns promptly to the on-call physician, NP, or PA per established protocols
Clinical Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for medical needs at your assigned facility
Contribute medical perspective to individualized treatment planning (ITP) and participate in treatment team meetings
Coordinate referrals and communication with outside medical providers, labs, and pharmacies
Collaborate with the RN at the sister facility to maintain consistent medical standards across RCM
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain timely, accurate nursing documentation in Alleva EHR consistent with ASAM standards and Montana Medicaid requirements
Ensure nursing documentation supports billing integrity for ASAM residential levels of care
Comply with all DPHHS licensing requirements, physician-approved protocols, and RCM policies and procedures
Requirements
Qualifications
Required:
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Montana, or eligibility under the Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC)
Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, detox/withdrawal management, or a closely related setting
Demonstrated experience with MAT and SUD pharmacology (buprenorphine, naltrexone, Vivitrol, clonidine, etc.)
Proficiency with CIWA-Ar and COWS withdrawal assessment tools
Strong clinical documentation skills with EHR experience
Ability to work independently with sound clinical judgment and minimal direct supervision
Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
Preferred:
Experience in a residential or inpatient SUD or behavioral health setting
Working knowledge of ASAM Criteria and residential levels of care
Experience with Alleva EHR or comparable behavioral health EHR platforms
Familiarity with Montana Medicaid billing requirements for SUD residential services
CARN credential or demonstrated interest in obtaining
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary: $85,000β$92,000, commensurate with experience and clinical background
