Dr. Cartledge enjoyed serving as a presenter at the Young Women of Excellence and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Columbia SC Chapter’s event “My Body is My Temple” at Brookland Baptist Church. She was able to speak during four break out sessions to girls in grades 1-12 and their mothers/mother figures. She shared tips with the girls about: digital eye strain, eye safety, and healthy food for the eyes. Information about common vision conditions affecting kids, digital eye strain, and the recommendations for getting eye examinations was shared with the mother figures. Dr. Cartledge is grateful to her Coalition sisters for the opportunity to speak during this great event!

Today, Dr. Cartledge had the privilege of speaking to a Public Health class at Benedict College about the profession of optometry. The students were very interested in the presentation and asked great questions which made for a lively discussion. Thank you to Mr. Henry Counts for extending an invitation again this year.

Dr. Cartledge and staff enjoyed some friendly competition during their monthly team outing to Pro Swing Golf. The team activities allow everyone to reduce stress and build a rapport outside of the office, which helps to be more effective while in the office. Work hard, play hard!! ⛳️

Today, Dr. Cartledge had the opportunity to speak at the Caretakers Support Workshop at First Nazareth Baptist Church. She was able to share important information about age related eye diseases with the attendees. Thank you to Ms. Robbie Diamond and the Caretakers Support Ministry for extending an invitation to speak.
