One act of generosity became a ripple effect that changed multiple lives.

Living kidney donation doesn't always require a direct match. Through paired kidney exchange, one person's willingness to donate can help multiple patients receive the life-saving transplant they need.

We're honored to care for patients and living donors who make stories like this possible every day.

Every stroke survivor's journey is different, but one challenge many share is lingering pain.

Nearly 70% of stroke survivors experience post-stroke pain, which can affect mobility, sleep and overall quality of life. At MUSC Health, specialists are using advanced neuromodulation therapies, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), spinal cord stimulation and innovative brain stimulation techniques, to help patients find relief when medications aren't enough.

By bringing together experts in pain management, neurology, psychiatry and neurosurgery, we're helping patients reclaim their quality of life through personalized care.

A program created at MUSC is helping people with Parkinson's disease stay active, build confidence and connect with others through the game of pickleball.

The MUSC Wellness Center recently introduced Pick It Up for Parkinson's at the World Parkinson Congress in Phoenix, Arizona. Co-founded by Dr. Vanessa Hinson of the MUSC Movement Disorders Program and Cindi Day, Kevin Smuniewski and Abby Ramsey of the MUSC Wellness Center, the program teaches people with Parkinson's disease how to safely and successfully play pickleball in their communities.

More than just exercise, Pick It Up for Parkinson's helps participants improve mobility, balance, coordination and social engagement while empowering them to stay active and independent.

The team also unveiled a new certification curriculum that will allow coaches across the country to bring this evidence-informed program to their own communities, expanding access to a unique resource for people living with Parkinson's disease.

Chriszyeus, a recent Andrew Jackson High School graduate whose journey has included significant health challenges, has never wavered in his determination. With a dream of becoming a flight paramedic, he made one special stop on graduation day: MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center.

Hoping to capture a photo with Meducare 3, the air medical helicopter he has long admired, Chriszyeus’ visit became something more. Thanks to the compassion of our care team, he was welcomed for a closer look, connecting with a member of the flight crew and experiencing the career he hopes to pursue.

We’re proud to support students like Chriszyeus, not only in their health journeys but in the futures they’re working toward, strengthening the communities we serve every day.
