Congrats to Sam White, MS, LPC, CCTP! 🎉

Sam recently became a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. That means she's completed additional, focused training in understanding, assessing, and treating the effects of trauma, beyond what's required for basic licensure.

What does this mean for clients? It means Sam is trained in trauma-informed care and uses evidence-based approaches tailored to how trauma uniquely shows up in a person's life. It's specialized training aimed at one thing: helping you heal well.

✨️ We're proud of you, Sam!

Coming out of a depression cycle can leave you feeling like you don't quite know yourself anymore. That's more common than you'd think.
One approach that can help is ACT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a type of counseling that helps you figure out what actually matters to you, and then take small steps toward it, even while hard thoughts and feelings are still around.
That might look like:
🧭 Naming what truly matters to you, separate from what depression has been telling you
🌱 Getting a little space from unhelpful thoughts, instead of getting stuck in them
👣 Taking small steps toward your values, even before you feel ready or motivated
You don't have to wait until you feel better to start living again. You can start moving toward what matters, one small step at a time.
If this sounds like where you're at, we have skilled therapists with availability who can support you.

👉 Send this to someone you know who needs a gentle reminder to eat today 🩷
It's especially easy for neurodivergent and ADHD brains to forget to feed themselves or that others may need to eat too!
Meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking can feel like a really big undertaking. Sometimes, we skip it all together and only eat when hunger feels too big to ignore. So next time you're at the store, grab a bunch of (healthy) snacks to keep on hand. Swipe to see some of our favorites!

Back to school means new backpacks, new schedules, and for some families, that familiar knot in your stomach wondering how this year is going to go.
If your child struggled last year, whether it was meltdowns before school, calls from the teacher, or just a quiet dread every morning, you don't have to wait for it to happen again before asking for help.
Meet Kelly Off, MS, LPC, one of our Columbia therapists. Kelly spent over 20 years inside Missouri schools as a teacher, school counselor, and regional coordinator, so she's sat on the other side of these meetings hundreds of times.
In this blog, Kelly guides you through what you can actually ask the school for, how to bring it up, and what it looks like when things start to shift.
And food for thought: Are your child's emotions or behaviors consistently getting in the way of their ability to enjoy school, make friends, take part in family life, or bounce back from ordinary challenges? Together, we can help build emotional skills and figure out how to support your child at home and at school.

The relationship between a therapist and client forms early, so we take a lot of care in scheduling you with a therapist. We match you based on several things, including: the specifics of what you're dealing with, which of our therapists is trained in the treatment that fits, and what kind of person you'll want to sit across from. Our therapists are trained in specific evidence-based treatments. EMDR, CPT, ERP, TF-CBT, ACT, DBT. Each is a specialized approach with real training behind them. Each works in a slightly different way to match different clients.
