"I'm excited to join Chase Brexton as a pediatrician and care for children and families throughout every stage. September is National Recovery Month, celebrating the progress in making recovery from substance use possible for everyone, recognizing those who make recovery possible, and inviting every American to be part of building recovery-ready communities.

Our STEP Clinic is all about making recovery from opiates possible by offering the support and the medication assistance to make leaving substance use behind easier.

The STEP Clinic is available at our Mt. Vernon Center, including walk-in availability on Tuesdays from 1 PM to 4 PM and Thursdays from 8 AM to 11 AM; as well as our Security Square Center with walk-in availability on Wednesdays from 1 PM to 4 PM.

For 25 years, International Overdose Awareness Day has brought people together on August 31 to remember those we’ve lost and to take action to save lives.

Overdose continues to affect every community. Yet it can be prevented. We know how to reduce risk and keep people safe. By speaking openly, learning from one another, and treating each other with care and respect, we build a world where fewer lives are lost.

This Sunday, August 30, is National Grief Awareness Day, a time to recognize that healing from loss doesn't have a prescribed course, and a reminder that closure comes in many forms.

Working through grief can be difficult—especially alone. Our Grief Group provides a safe space for participants to learn ways to process their grief with the support of a therapist and others also mourning a loss.

The group is starting a new eight-week cycle on Monday, Sept. 14. To register, ask your Chase Brexton provider for a referral or contact the Behavioral Health Department at 410-837-2050 x8800.
