Welcome to the new age of asthma rescue/quick reliever medication.....GINA asthma guidelines now RECOMMEND that albuterol alone should no longer be used as a quick reliever/emergency reliever in patients 18 years and older (hopefully will be approved SOON for pediatric use!) Studies show that addition of budesonide to albuterol lessens asthma symptoms and decreases the possibility of an "attack" significantly when used together. THIS IS BIG FOLKS!! If you use albuterol....ask your provider to switch to AirSupra! Commercial copay cards are available!
