I’m grateful to be featured in Helpful Living Magazine again. My newest article is titled: “We Weren’t There, So Why Does It Feel Like We Were?”
With tragic news stories increasingly unfolding around the world, many of us are carrying emotional weight that we cannot always name. You may feel anxious, sad, overwhelmed, angry, numb, or unable to stop checking for updates—even when the tragedy did not happen directly to you.
This can be part of vicarious trauma: the emotional and physical impact of repeatedly witnessing or absorbing the suffering of others.
In this article, I discuss how constant breaking news can affect our nervous systems and share gentle ways to create healthier boundaries with information while still honoring our compassion for others.
