NAMI Columbia-volunteers working to improve the quality of life for those affected by mental illness There's a meeting out there to fit your schedule.

Beginning April 2023 we will have two separate in person support group meetings.

1) We hold in-person FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP for those who may have loved ones who live with a mental health condition at
-Broadway Christian Church
-2601 W. Broadway
-Columbia, MO 65203
-6:30-7:45PM (enter on west side through door by fellowship hall)

2) We hold in-person meetings for RECOVER

Y SUPPORT CONNECTIONS for adult individuals who live with a mental health condition on the THIRD MONDAY of each month at
-CenterPointe Hospital in Columbia
-1201 international Dr.
-Columbia, MO 65202
-6:30 PM Recovery Support Group meeting (enter by outpatient entrance on the South west side)

Groups offer support more effectively when individuals attend the session that fits their experience with a mental health condition: as a family member or as the individual living with the behavioral health challenge. We'd encourage everyone to access virtual support groups (family or recovery support connections) that meet across Missouri. https://namimissouri.org/support-groups/

--Gambling disorder has been shown to carry THE HIGHEST SU***DE RISK out of any other substance use or addictive disorder.
-- Studies show that roughly one in two gamblers will think about su***de and one in five gamblers will attempt su***de.

Happy Labor Day from NAMI Columbia, MO!
We appreciate the sweat, planning, learning, and frustrations that go into working. Thank you to all who contribute to this realm of labor in our communities.
We pause too, to acknowledge and honor too our neighbors for whom regular employment seems so often out of reach due to mental or physical health challenges. NAMI Missouri is there and continuing to advocate for opportunities for dignity and personal satisfaction for everyone.

Two of our NAMI Columbia, MO Family group facilitators will be keynote speakers at the NAMI Missouri State Conference Saturday, October 17, 2026 in Jefferson City.

Thank you to Heather Harlan and Barb Buchanan for their willingness to share the ways NAMI has suported them and their families through dark chapters of life.
Heather will also lead a session to help us all understand substance use disorders in a new light. (Pssst. She'll be using her ukulele. It's a lighthearted session on a serious topic.)
