Sometimes, success isn’t about doing something the “traditional” way, it’s about finding the way that works for you. 💙

Today, Alvin Hearns discovered a new strategy for putting on his robe, and that is exactly what occupational therapy is all about! When one approach isn’t possible, we work together to find an alternative that promotes safety, independence, and confidence.

Occupational therapy focuses on adapting tasks and teaching new techniques so individuals can continue doing the everyday activities that matter most to them. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, it’s about meeting each person where they are and helping them achieve success in a way that fits their unique abilities.

Way to go, Alvin! Every new strategy learned is another step toward greater independence. 👏💙

Today’s therapy spotlight is on walker safety and confidence! 👏

Before a patient takes their first steps with a new walker, there’s a lot that happens behind the scenes. Our COTA assembled a brand-new walker, ensured every component was properly adjusted, and tested it to confirm it was safe and ready for use.

The next step? Patient education! Demonstrating the correct way to use the walker, reviewing important safety tips, and practicing proper technique helps patients build confidence while reducing their risk of falls.

A few walker safety reminders:

✅ Make sure your walker is adjusted to the correct height.
✅ Step into the walker, don’t push it too far ahead.
✅ Keep all four legs of the walker on the ground before stepping.
✅ Remove trip hazards and take your time.

Every step toward independence begins with the right equipment, proper training, and a commitment to safety. We’re proud to help our patients move with greater confidence every day! 💙🚶

🎶 Who says therapy can’t be fun? 💃🕺

Raymond Scott brought plenty of energy and smiles to his therapy session by enjoying a little dancing! Dancing is more than just a good time, it helps improve balance, coordination, endurance, strength, and overall mobility while making exercise something to look forward to.

At therapy, we love finding activities that keep our residents engaged while helping them reach their goals. Raymond’s enthusiasm is a great reminder that progress can happen one dance step at a time!

💪 Strength starts with one squat at a time! 💪

Raymond Scott has been putting in the work during his therapy sessions by completing squats to improve his lower body strength. Building strength in the legs is an important part of improving balance, making transfers safer, standing up with greater ease, and increasing confidence with everyday mobility.

Every repetition brings Raymond one step closer to reaching his goals, and we’re proud of the dedication and determination he shows each day.
