University of Missouri Hospital Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center Welcome to the official University of Missouri Hospital-Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center page! and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The UMH Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center partners with patients and their families to provide comprehensive care for individuals with CF. We provide experience in the current treatments for cystic fibrosis and follow the guidelines established by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The University of Missouri Hospital CF center is accredited by the CF Foundation to ensure standards of care.Our CF cent

er is led by medical specialist with a complete team of healthcare professionals who are trained in CF Care including: Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, Dietitian, and Social Worker. For appointments at the Medicine Specialty Clinic at University Physicians Medical Building Please call (573) 882-8788. To schedule an appointment schedulers are available to take your call between 8 a.m. Patients do not have to have a physician's referral to make an appointment unless it is required by the patient's insurance company or managed care plan. Clinic staff members appreciate 48 hours' notice if a patient must cancel an appointment. The clinic is located on the first floor of the University Physicians Medical Building at 1020 Hitt Street. Patients may park in the visitor parking garage at the east end of University Hospital or use the free valet parking service. Before Your First Appointment:
Please ask your referring physician to send us your medical records and test results, including genotype and/or sweat test, X-rays and other images. Your First Evaluation:
Please bring your insurance cards, identification and list of medications to your first appointment. Our care team will review your medical and family histories and then your doctor will perform physical examination and possibly some tests. Prescription Refills:
As a service to our patients seen in the Medicine Specialty Clinic, refills may be requested through the Medicine Specialty clinic prescription refill line. This service is available for patients who will run out of medication before the next scheduled Cystic Fibrosis follow-up appointment. Please call (573) 882-8788, select option 2. When you call for a refill, please have name, dosage and frequency of the medicine as well as your pharmacy name/phone number. Your pharmacy may FAX a request directly to the refill nurse at (573) 884-1751. Questions About Cystic Fibrosis Concerns:
If you have non-emergency questions about Cystic Fibrosis concerns or about labs or test performed at the University Hospital, please call the Medicine Specialty clinic nurse at (573) 882-8788. A clinic nurse is available between 8 a.m. Monday through Friday to help answer your questions and direct your call to your physician as needed. After Clinic Hours
If you have an urgent need to speak with a Cystic Fibrosis physician after 5 p.m. or on the weekends and holidays, call the University Hospital operator at (573) 882-4141 and ask for the Cystic Fibrosis physician on call.

The Vertex Foundation Annual Scholarship Program is open for 2026 and is accepting applications until 3:00 PM Central Time on February 24, 2026. This program awards scholarships to a certain number of eligible people with cystic fibrosis (CF) and their families who are pursuing 2-year, 3-year, 4-year or graduate degrees to help offset some of the cost of attending college or graduate school.
