𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀: We accept most insurance plans, and our estimate includes the radiologist's read (the report on your images), which is a separate bill at some institutions. Further, research shows independent imaging centers often cost patients less, sometimes by hundreds, than hospital-based imaging.

We submit your pre-auth to insurance for your provider so their focus can stay on you. We often get you scheduled faster since emergency cases aren't our day-to-day. And your results are typically ready in the portal within 2 business days (often same day).

Lastly, as to who is reading your exam: our facilities are ACR accredited, and our radiologists are board-certified, include an ACR Fellow, bring decades of combined experience, and read imaging for hospitals across Mid-Missouri. 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝘀𝘁! 🍂 Bonfires, hayrides, pumpkin everything, and 𝗨𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵! Just like last year, we're here to remind you: ultrasound isn't just for baby pics (though we love those too 👶).

Chances are you or someone you love will need an ultrasound at some point. It helps find answers about things like blood clots, gallbladder trouble, thyroid issues, and fatty liver, and it's often one of the first exams ordered before something like a CT or MRI. It's also pretty cool: high-frequency sound waves and their echoes create images of the inside of your body in real time, with no radiation.

𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿, but two important awareness months are wrapping up: 𝗢𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 and 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵. Together, they affect millions of women and men: 𝟭 𝗶𝗻 𝟵𝟭 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 will face ovarian cancer, and 𝟭 𝗶𝗻 𝟴 𝗺𝗲𝗻 will face prostate cancer in their lifetime.

The good news? Both are far more treatable when caught early. Ovarian cancer diagnosis typically starts with a transvaginal ultrasound. Prostate cancer starts with a simple blood test and physical exam, followed by a biopsy and imaging if needed.

Before September ends, take a minute and talk to your doctor about your risk, or your loved ones' risk. It's a five-minute conversation that can make all the difference.

𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗮 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆, with all of September dedicated to bringing attention to this rare, aggressive disease that can be mistaken for bronchitis or a persistent cold until it's too late.

Mesothelioma is linked to asbestos exposure, and here in Missouri, that history runs deep. Decades of manufacturing, automotive, and power plant work (plus renovations on older, pre-1970s buildings) mean many folks in mid-Missouri have had exposure without realizing it. 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝟮𝟬-𝟱𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗿, so a past job or an old house doesn't mean the risk ends when you leave.

If something feels off (unexplained shortness of breath, chest pain, or a cough that won't quit), your doctor will usually order imaging first. It typically starts with 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗫-𝗿𝗮𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗧, 𝗣𝗘𝗧, 𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗥𝗜 if something needs a closer look. From there, a biopsy is what actually confirms a diagnosis.

And thanks to researchers and modern medicine, the journey has gained a few miles and a lot more fun.

We're so excited to welcome Bailey and Dee to the Advanced Radiology team!

𝗕𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘆 (Left) is a 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁 who graduated from State Technical College of Missouri's Medical Radiologic Technology program. She chose Advanced Radiology for the opportunity to learn something new every day while providing the best patient care possible. Outside of work, she loves golfing, reading, and watching reruns of The Golden Girls (don't we all)!

𝗗𝗲𝗲 (Right) has a wonderful personality, and Dee would like you to know that she is "your new registered nutcase who likes to play a nurse on TV!" Dee brings decades of 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 experience to our team, having worked at hospitals in Dayton, Ohio, and locally with MU Health, Boone Health, and Gentiva before joining us. Outside of work, she keeps busy with 4 cats, 1 dog, 1 husband, 3 grown kids, and a whole lot of gardening, painting, and baking.

Both Bailey and Dee have already been wonderful additions to our team. We're so glad to have them!

Thank you to College for having us! It was such a pleasure connecting with so many curious, driven students and fellow local businesses who make this community what it is. As a homegrown Mid-Missouri business ourselves, we know how much it matters to have local places you can trust, and events like this remind us why we love what we do.

We had so many great conversations today, talking to students about everything from our imaging services (X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and more) to our affordable health screenings, which got a lot of attention! One crowd favorite? Body Composition analysis, which is the gold standard for understanding what your body is actually made of, way beyond what an InBody can tell you. Students pursuing health and fitness goals were very interested in that one. 💪
