Thank you for helping to Normalize Mental Health. The first step is recognizing that you need support. This may look like sleeping too much or too little, not eating or eating too much, irritability, rash decision making, or unhealthy coping mechanisms like gambling, smoking, or drinking.

988 is a confidential text or talk line that is 24 hours a day if you still like no one else is there to listen.

For me I rather listen to you cry then cry because you're gone. It's really Strong to Seek Support.

On this episode of Minding My Mental Health when I ran into this young lady that said she was from South Africa we hit it off instantly! She shared that Not only was her art a form of therapy, she's intentional with meditation, working out, and what she puts into her body!

I had the opportunity to share my grandmother's artwork and how she was into play therapy before it was a technique. Remember if it's not hurtful or harmful, and it doesn't cause death or destruction, do more of that!

Thank you Queen for helping to Normalize Mental Health!

On todays episode of Minding Our Mental Health I had the opportunity to meet with who works with Deaf LEAD.

She shared how there is no one way to take care of your mental health and how important her sobriety is. Losing my sister to substance misuse, I respect and salute those who strive for sobriety.

Remember its ok, not to be ok, and Seeking Support is really Strong! Thank you Selima for helping to #988

Don't just listen put action to what you hear. Also, remember that more than half of communication is nonverbal. Just because you hear doesn't mean you heard what the other person is saying. Remember to be kinder than necessary because you never know what the next person is going through. TMT Knowledge Academy

Thanks Hayden and Jaden for helping to Normalize Mental Health! Some of the great skill use mentioned included journaling, writing music, and being outside. Some of the not so great skill use included smoking and drinking, which may seem beneficial in the moment. However, the cost financially, in opportunities and health can last a lifetime.
988 is a crisis line that you can call or text for support 24 hours a day. Recognizing that you need help is the first step. It's really strong to seek support!

On this episode of Minding My Mental Health, being intentional on choosing how to respond can mean the difference of catching flights or being grounded.๐Ÿค”

It amazes me the amount of clients that I get, that don't know, that if you get certain criminal charges that your ability to get a passport could be limited or taken away. This means they can't leave the country๐Ÿค”

Learning how to communicate when frustrated, upset, hurt, or angry can mean the difference between mending a relationship or making a statement that has long-term consequences.

On this episode of Minding our Mental Health, we trained on ACE's or adverse childhood experiences.

We discussed about how things that happen to you before the age of 18 can have a long-lasting effect across your lifespan.

We also discussed about how you can be a safe space for a young person to limit or prevent ACE's from occurring.

It was a great day fellowshipping, learning, and sharing, so much so, we ran out of time! Next time, don't just share the post, show up!
