Happy Juneteenth. ❤️🖤💚

This is more than a holiday to me—it is a homecoming for my soul.

Juneteenth is one of my favorite days of the year because it reminds me that freedom is both a gift and a responsibility. It calls me to pause, reflect, celebrate, and remember the shoulders upon which I stand.

One of the ways I honor this day is by traveling to places where the stories of Africans in America still echo through the streets, the churches, the museums, the soil, and the silence. I love standing where history happened, imagining the dreams that survived unimaginable hardship, and feeling connected to a legacy that could never be erased.

Every journey reminds me that our ancestors were more than what they endured. They were visionaries, builders, healers, educators, artists, parents, and believers.

Today, I celebrate their courage. I celebrate our culture. I celebrate our resilience. And I celebrate the beautiful truth that Black history is not confined to the past—it is alive in us.

May we continue to tell our stories, preserve our history, love our people, and walk boldly in the freedom that was so dearly won.

Happy Juneteenth. May we never stop remembering. May we never stop growing. May we never stop becoming the ancestors our descendants will one day thank.

❤️🖤💚

You good with this caption? So we know Dr. Jeff loves Michael Jackson… but did y’all know she also loves Future? 😭
Welcome to Future Fridays with Jeff — here for a short time, not a long time. We know it’s toxic, but somehow the message still finds us every single week 😂
One minute it’s healing conversations and self-care… the next minute it’s:
“Mask off.”
“Life is good.”
“Thought it was a drought.” 💀
Duality. Balance. Range.

The Department of Education (ED) has finalized its Reimagining and Improving Student Education (RISE) rule, which will exclude Mental Health Counseling programs from professional degree status beginning July 1, 2026.

Despite the decision, we’ll continue to advocate for professional degree status for Counselors through congressional engagement, student support, and professional organization collaboration.

We encourage you to join us and call your legislators. Learn more about the ED’s decision and its consequences at https://bit.ly/DOE-RISE

I did not choose this profession for financial gain—I chose it because I believe, at my core, that every individual deserves the opportunity to experience true wellness.

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, I invite you to pause and reconnect with yourself. There is strength, resilience, and healing already within you. Sometimes, all it takes is the right support, guidance, and space to nurture that growth.

You are worthy of feeling whole. You are worthy of peace. And you don’t have to navigate the journey alone.

As a clinician, I see firsthand the impact that unaddressed mental, emotional, and even physical health challenges have on our children. That’s why I’m inviting you to join me for “Let’s Help Our Children Thrive: A Mental Health Conversation.”
This isn’t just another discussion—it’s a call to action for parents, caregivers, educators, and community leaders. Our children deserve environments where they feel seen, supported, and equipped to navigate life’s challenges. That starts with us being informed, intentional, and willing to do the work.
When we prioritize mental health alongside physical health, we create stronger families, healthier communities, and better outcomes for the next generation.
I hope you’ll tap in and be part of this important conversation.
