Happy Juneteenth. ❤️🖤💚
This is more than a holiday to me—it is a homecoming for my soul.
Juneteenth is one of my favorite days of the year because it reminds me that freedom is both a gift and a responsibility. It calls me to pause, reflect, celebrate, and remember the shoulders upon which I stand.
One of the ways I honor this day is by traveling to places where the stories of Africans in America still echo through the streets, the churches, the museums, the soil, and the silence. I love standing where history happened, imagining the dreams that survived unimaginable hardship, and feeling connected to a legacy that could never be erased.
Every journey reminds me that our ancestors were more than what they endured. They were visionaries, builders, healers, educators, artists, parents, and believers.
Today, I celebrate their courage. I celebrate our culture. I celebrate our resilience. And I celebrate the beautiful truth that Black history is not confined to the past—it is alive in us.
May we continue to tell our stories, preserve our history, love our people, and walk boldly in the freedom that was so dearly won.
Happy Juneteenth. May we never stop remembering. May we never stop growing. May we never stop becoming the ancestors our descendants will one day thank.
