Move beyond basic concepts of Osteoporosis and learn how to apply that knowledge safely and effectively in real-world teaching next month with Lucy in Yoga for Osteoporosis: Advanced Teaching Skills on September 20th! Register before September 6th to receive our special Early Bird rate. 🐤

In this workshop, participants will learn to:
➡️ Observe postural and movement patterns
➡️ Understand spinal loading and safe ranges of motion
➡️ Recognize common habits that may increase risk, particularly in transitions and everyday movements
➡️ Learn how to adapt familiar yoga postures to support bone health
➡️ Emphasize a neutral spine, strength-building, and safe, sustainable movement strategies while teaching

This training will focus on how to teach — refining cueing language, pacing, and class design to better serve students with osteoporosis or those at risk. By the end of the training, teachers will feel more confident in their ability to create thoughtful, well-structured classes, offer meaningful adaptations, and support students in building strength, balance, and resilience in a safe and empowering way.

We will explore how bone health, fracture risk, posture, and movement patterns intersect—giving teachers a clearer lens through which to assess and support your students. Participants will learn how to look beyond bone density scores alone, and instead consider the full picture: alignment, strength, balance, and functional movement. A central focus of the training will be practical application.

This training is appropriate for yoga teachers, yoga therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other health professionals. It will include handouts of poses and actions covered and access to the training recording. Yoga teachers registered with Yoga Alliance will receive 5 CEs upon successful completion.

Grief is a natural response to loss — especially the loss of a loved one, but also the loss of relationships, health, identity, or ways of life that have deeply shaped us. These experiences can leave us carrying sorrow, confusion, longing, and many emotions that are often held quietly and alone.

This coming Sunday, August 30th, Julia will host Yoga and Movement for Grief and Loss, a workshop that offers a safe and supportive space to gently tend to the heart while supporting the healing of the body. Together, we will explore grief through mindful movement, breath, sound, guided reflection, and meditation.

This is not about fixing or resolving grief, but about honoring it — creating space for remembrance, connection, and meaning to unfold with compassion, presence, and care.

If you are grieving or know someone who has experienced loss, Julia's gentle presence and compassionate nature can be a guide and support on your path to healing. Register today on our Workshops page: https://www.columbiayoga.com/workshops
