Williams Funeral Home & Crematory

Williams Funeral Home & Crematory Williams Funeral Home is family operated since 1935. We also help plan ahead for funeral expenses. Pet cremations and pet services are available on request.

We have an on-property crematory serving families that have chosen cremation services or traditional funeral arrangements. Since 1935, Williams Funeral Home & Crematory has provided custom funeral packages designed to celebrate life and serve families. This family-operated business is more than an essential funeral home. All funeral directors are also Certified Celebrants; they work with each fami

ly to provide personalized consulting and guidance to ensure that the event is both meaningful and respectful. Funeral packages cover every detail required for a quality event. The caring staff take pride in the family-focused approach used when designing funeral services. Funeral packages can always be customized to include visitations, graveside services, military honors, caskets, and more. Families can choose from traditional funeral offerings, or design a less-formal event such as a life celebration or memorial. Williams Funeral Home & Crematory has owned and operated an on-site crematory for over 20 years. Unlike most other funeral homes that advertise cremation services and subcontract to other providers, the team at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory assures that their own licensed and certified employees will handle all details of the cremation. Direct cremation is available for families who want to simplify the services. Or, cremation can be combined with a memorial service or celebration of life. The original funeral home was established in 1935 on Seventh Street in Columbia. In 2012, a tragic fire destroyed much of the building. But the bomb-shelter style construction in the basement protected precious items, including paperwork and files. The funeral home has been rebuilt, and the team is now proud to offer two locations for convenience. Williams Funeral Home & Crematory provides services for families throughout Maury County, including Columbia, Mt. Pleasant, Spring Hill, Lawrenceburg, and Pulaski. The funeral home holds memberships with several industry organizations, including the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA), The Southern Cemetery Cremation and Funeral Association (SCCFA), and the Cemetery Association of Tennessee (CAT). For more information about cremation and funeral services, Williams Funeral Home & Crematory is here to help. Visit the nearest location at 2517 Trotwood Ave Columbia, TN 38401. Call any time if immediate funeral services are required, or if the family would like to schedule a preplanning consultation: (931) 388-2135.

David Ridge was born in Mt.Pleasant, TN, to Virgil and Emma Wilhite. As the son of a career military man and WW2 veteran, he lived in many different places, including several states as well as overseas in Okinawa and England, experiences that shaped his early life and perspective.

After graduating high school in Clearfield, Utah, David began his military career serving in the army. His first deployment was as a driver of the M-60 tank in Berlin. Next, he did a tour of duty in Vietnam as a motion picture photographer with the role of documenting the conflict with the 221st Signal Company. Upon returning to the U.S., he married Shelia Hill. Together, they built a family that included four children, eleven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Shortly after his marriage, he exited the Army and attended Columbia state. After some time at Columbia State, he entered the Air force as a Motion Picture photographer in various deployments until the unit was disbanded in the late 70’s. He then switched to communications and stayed in that role until his retirement in 1986. After military retirement, David continued to work in the fields of carpentry and construction.

Rebecca Michelle Daum

Rebecca “Michelle” Daum, age 61, passed away on May 18, 2026, just one day after celebrating her 29th wedding anniversary with her loving and devoted husband, Robert Paul Daum. After a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Michelle leaves behind a legacy of grace, kindness, and compassion that touched countless lives.

Through every trial life placed before her, Michelle never allowed hardship to dim her light. She carried herself with strength and dignity, meeting each challenge with a gentle spirit and unwavering love for those around her. Her contagious laugh and radiant smile could light up any room, and she had a rare gift of making others feel safe, welcomed, and deeply cared for in her presence. Whether someone needed guidance, comfort, or simply a shoulder to lean on, Michelle was always there without hesitation. Her warmth and nurturing heart earned her the cherished name “Mama Michelle” by so many who loved her.

Music was woven deeply into Michelle’s soul. Growing up in a home where music was ever present, she developed a lifelong passion inspired by her father, a talented bass player who worked alongside many country music stars. Michelle learned to play the piano at a young age, and one of her greatest joys was passing that love of music down to her daughters. She found happiness and energy in music throughout her life, and her favorite band, Aerosmith, always held a special place in her heart.

Above all else, Michelle treasured her family. Her love was steadfast, unconditional, and deeply felt by those fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband, Robert Daum; her daughters, Lauren Elizabeth Tate, Stephanie Nicole Daum, and Briana Rebecca Daum; her goddaughters, Lori Bovi and Michelle Garner; her parents, James and Patricia Johnson; and her mother-in-law, Anna Mae Daum.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Richard Joseph Daum.

Though her earthly journey has ended, the love, warmth, and compassion Michelle shared so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the funeral home to help cover final expenses during this difficult time.

The care of Mrs. Rebecca Michelle Daum has been entrusted to Williams Funeral Home. To share words of comfort, please visit www.williamsfh.com

Lorenzo Gerardo Aguilar

Lorenzo Gerardo Aguilar was born on August 10, 1952, in León, Guanajuato, Mexico, a place that shaped his roots, his work ethic, and his sense of pride. He was 73 when he was called home on May 22, 2026, leaving behind a family that loved him deeply and a world made richer by his presence. A man of few unnecessary words and many meaningful actions, he showed love through showing up. He had a presence that filled a room without demanding it.

Hardworking and proud of where he came from, he could make you laugh without warning, make you listen without raising his voice, and make you feel cared for in ways words rarely captured. He found joy in his garden, in cooking, his love of books, the game of soccer, which was a part of his life from childhood to his adult years. He played the game and carried that love into coaching and managing in the San Fernando Valley. He loved watching his favorite team, Club América, every week. His love of cars started young, working alongside his father, learning the language of engines and grease. It never left him. He carried it through decades at General Motors, building some of America’s most iconic automobiles until the day he retired. To Lorenzo, a car was a connection to his father, to his roots, and to the satisfaction of a job done right. Most of all, he loved being surrounded by his family, the patriarch of something that mattered.

A Soldier’s Honor. Lorenzo proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, and that service never left him. The discipline, the courage, the belief that something greater than yourself was worth protecting were woven into the fabric of who he was as a husband, a father, and a man. He served his country, then came home and served his family with that same devotion.

A Life Built on Love. For Lorenzo, family was everything, not in a sentimental way, but in the most practical and profound sense. The life he built alongside his beloved wife, Bertha, was his greatest achievement. Together, they made a home where children were raised with love and structure, where tradition was honored, and where the door was always open. He was a proud father to Lorenzo Aguilar Jr., Martha Tello, and Idalia Aguilar, a grandfather who delighted in his grandchildren, and a great-grandfather whose legacy was growing in the faces of 18 great-grandchildren. To many beyond his own blood, Lorenzo was simply “Dad” or “Welo,” a presence that offered warmth, guidance, and the rare gift of making someone feel truly seen.

Those Who Carry Him Forward. Lorenzo is survived by his wife, Bertha Aguilar; his daughters, Martha Tello (and her husband, Noe) and Idalia Aguilar; his siblings Rosa Maria, Maria Fortunata, Maria Cruz and German; his grandchildren Christopher Aguilar, Vanesa Barahona, Adam Tello, Matthew Tello, Samantha Aguilar, Alyssa Tello, Lorenzo Aguilar III, Roberto Castillo III, Ricardo Reyes, Audelia Rivas, Joseph Rubio, Jesse Marenco, and Jacqueline Sanchez; and his 18 great-grandchildren: Arturo, Jordan, Emilia, Alyssa, Adrian, Gabriel, Sebastian, Jesus, Giovanni, Isabel, Ameryss, Eric, Sophia, Raelynn, Zachary, Enzo, Noah, and Luca.

Lorenzo did not leave behind only memories. He left behind lessons in how to work, how to love, how to protect what matters, and how to carry yourself with dignity. Those lessons live now in every person he shaped, every story told at a dinner table, every grandchild who acts a little bit like him without even knowing it.

“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved, we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.”
