One thing I've learned about Memory Care...

Sometimes you're only one question away from the best conversation of your day.

"Who's your team?"

"Tell me about this jersey."

"Were you always a Buckeye?"

That's all it takes, and the stories start flowing. The smiles get a little bigger.

And before long, you're learning about first dates, family traditions, unforgettable games, and memories that have been there all along.

It's one of my favorite parts of the day.💜

This story has been making its way around Harrison... ❤️

One of our residents was having a hard moment.

Aliesha, Mercedes, Aniya, Shaina, and Dawnisha didn't hesitate.

They surrounded her with hugs, reassurance, and stayed right there until she felt safe again.

Some things just come naturally.

Looking at this team... we'd say kindness is one of them.

I'm really glad you're here.

I also want you to know something.

You don't have to have everything figured out before you reach out.

You don't have to wait until things get worse.

You don't have to be "ready."

Sometimes it helps to simply sit down with someone who's walked this road with other families before.

Ask the questions.

Say the things you're afraid to say out loud.

Cry if you need to.

Or just come see what life here feels like.

No pressure.

It's amazing how quickly strangers become friends when everyone has dirt under their fingernails.

No one seems to be in much of a hurry.

Before long, you're swapping gardening tips, sharing stories about the flowers you used to grow, and laughing over who got the most dirt on their shoes.

The flowers will brighten our community for weeks to come.

But it's the conversations, the laughter, and the friendships that will last even longer.

That's one of the many things we love about life at Harrison on 5th. Sometimes the simplest afternoons turn into the special moments everyone remembers. 🌼
