Todays genealogy quest has me reaching out to Maryland. Researching late 1700 to early 1800's marriage records and another example of how much harder it is to find women back then. Did you know census records did not list womans names then? They only listed the man of the house, then tally marks for each female and male by age category.

Helen Bartels. Isn't she beautiful? I found her at an antique store yesterday. Wonder what mystery I will unfold with trying to find her. Did you know women are tougher to find? Due to marriage their names change. Sometimes more then once.

A couple of weeks ago I joined a company called West Tenth. It is a woman ran business only site. Though there I received my first search inquiry. And boy is it a search!!! I am being asked to find family in Russia from an adpotee. This should be interesting. I will update everyone as it goes.
