What are you going to do for yourself this month? My list is below!
It’s officially August and National Wellness Month. Whether you are looking to know your numbers, lose or maintain weight, find out what your hormone levels are, or wanting to clear up summer skin damage & focus on your skin health- now is the time to do it!
For me personally, I’m working on my physical, mental, & skin health.
✨Skin: This is the time of the year that I change up products in my skincare routine. I rotate some products in and others out. I increase microneedling sessions, I do PRX, sculptra, peels, & more facials.
✨Physical ( & let’s be for real, mental health): I signed up for a personal trainer online (she’s local and amazing- drop a comment and I’ll let you know if you are interested). My goal is not to be skinny- it’s to be strong. I have very weak bones so not being super fragile when I’m older is a priority. I take a GLP-1 to help reduce inflammation because of a strong family history of autoimmune disorders and elevated inflammatory markers. (Do you know your numbers? If not, come see me). It’s the perfect time for a mid-year check up. I take most major insurances. I check my hormone levels regularly & am on hormone replacement therapy at 39 and feel better than I ever did in my 20’s.
✨Mental: Working out helps my mental status SO much. Aside from that, I take medication to help (if you feel stressed or carry a full plate all the time- it is okay to talk to someone and there is nothing wrong with needing medication). Our bodies can only handle so much stress and anxiety- this is where medications come in. Sometimes they are necessary. Come see me if you are feeling anxious, worried over normal things, just feel off, etc.)
I also marked off days in my calendar for mental health days. Whether you work for yourself or have PTO days, schedule yourself a day every once in a while for limited responsibilities, a day for YOU. I’m going to increase the time I take for myself and things I enjoy- read more, get massages & facials & make sleep a priority.
Let me know in the comments some things you’d like to work on this month! 💗
