One of the questions I had this week inside of the FNI community is how do you deal with copyright infringement? At first it feels like a huge violation almost a sting, when you first see someone has copied your entire website over as their own. Or they’re using your pictures (that you have paid for by a professional photographer) in their marketing or social media ads/posts. We could say it’s flattering, but it’s not. It tells us a lot more about the person who committed the offense. I have had it happen for years. Multiple times. What I do know for sure is, it’s not good for the long game of business development. Once you release the shock & sting of it, send them the email requesting the cessation of use. Do not expect any acknowledgment or apology from the offender. This will tell you all you need to know about their character & business practice. 😉
