Effective communication matters, especially during interactions with law enforcement. 🚓

The Ohio Department of Public Safety's Traffic Safety Office, OOD, and law enforcement officers across the state developed a communication card to help Ohioans with disabilities exchange information more easily during traffic stops and other interactions.

You can download the card to your phone or print it out and keep it in your vehicle, wallet, or purse. It includes visual prompts designed to support people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or have other communication disabilities.

Download the communication card PDF today, and please share this resource with someone who may benefit. ➡️ bit.ly/4uGxxB5

Fraud and scams can have serious and lasting effects on older adults, affecting their finances, emotional well-being, and sense of security. It's okay to offer to read printed materials or signs to someone who is blind or has low vision, but always ask first.

A simple, respectful approach like "Would you like me to read this for you?" helps ensure the person can choose the support that works best for them.

Remember: accessibility starts with communication and respect! ❤️

The 92-day span of March, April, and May represents Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, Autism Acceptance Month, and Mental Health Awareness Month. For families of multisystem youth (MSY), however, navigating complex needs is a daily reality.

While progress has been made in youth mental health, more work remains. We must reach more families, secure sustainable funding, and ensure no MSY family struggles in silence.

In partnership with the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health and the Ohio Department of Medicaid, we are joining the movement to help ensure every MSY family is seen, heard, and supported.

Together, we can help families across our state get the care they deserve.
