First up: Lt Col Josh Lane (USAF flight surgeon) is actively involved in the Georgia State Partnership programs within the Georgia Air National Guard. He recently had the opportunity to fly in an F-16 fighter jet, experiencing 9Gs firsthand. This reflects the powerful connection between (aerospace) medicine, mission readiness, and operational excellence. ✈️

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month ☀️

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common form of skin cancer and is often caused by cumulative sun exposure over time. While it typically grows slowly, early detection and treatment are important to help prevent further skin damage and complications.

Common warning signs can include:
🔍 A pearly or shiny bump
🔍 A sore that won’t heal
🔍 A pink or irritated patch
🔍 A scar-like area on the skin

Daily sunscreen use, protective clothing, and routine skin checks are key steps in protecting your skin health. If you notice any new, changing, or non-healing spots, schedule an evaluation with a dermatology provider.
