Meet Dion

Dion is one of 7 siblings and graduated from Indiana University as a History major; back when it was about $7 a credit hour! After college, he was drafted into the military, where he served for a few years.

Over the years, he's done a bit of everything. Dion has run a movie projector, worked construction, managed a coin and stamp company, and even attempted law school before deciding it wasn't for him. He found great success as a real estate agent in California, where he won the 99 Club Award in 1986.

But none of that compares to his time umpiring. As a die-hard Dodgers fan, he had the incredible opportunity to umpire for them!

After meeting through a friend and winning her over with his sense of humor, Dion married his wife, Nancy. He says she made him the luckiest man alive. Nancy was a creative soul who painted many beautiful pictures (shown below). While they didn't have children together, family has always been a big part of Dion's life, and he's very involved in his nieces' and nephews' lives and loves to share their accomplishments today.

Dion is now building a new friendship with his Visiting Angel and we're grateful to get to know clients like him!

Meet Roxie

Roxie is from Bedford, Indiana, and is one of eight siblings. At the age of 32, she made the decision to go back to school and earn her GED. Along the way, she discovered a love for algebra! Today, she is a devoted mother to her four children.

Through Visiting Angels, Roxie found a caregiver, Cathy, who goes above and beyond every day. Cathy has been able to introduce her to new hobbies and crafts, including bracelet making (as shown in the photos below), diamond painting, and jigsaw puzzles. As they spend time creating together, they have built a genuine friendship filled with laughter and lasting memories.

Roxie even says her caregiver "is the best thing to ever happen to me." Together, they've built a relationship founded on friendship, compassion, and trust.
