BIG WIN FOR OHIO CHIROPRACTORS! 🎉

Yesterday, the Ohio General Assembly passed SB 162, a major victory for healthcare providers and a legislative priority supported by OSCA.

For too long, chiropractors have been required to manage insurance takebacks years after services were provided and claims were paid. SB 162 helps restore fairness by reducing the recoupment window from 24 months to 12 months, expanding appeal timelines, and improving transparency in the process.

This victory means:
✔ More predictability for chiropractic practices
✔ Less administrative burden
✔ Better financial stability for small healthcare businesses
✔ More time focused on patients—not old paperwork

Thank you to our members who shared their stories, our legislative champions at the Statehouse, and everyone who helped move this bill across the finish line.

The bill now heads to the governor for his signature. Once signed and filed with the Secretary of State, it will take effect in 90 days. We will share the official effective date with members as soon as it’s confirmed.

Join us this fall, as Dr. Gary Estadt presents his two part Dry Needling certification series. Over the course of two 25 hour weekends Dr. Estadt will prepare the chiropractic physician to practice Trigger Point Needling (TrPtDN) for Neuromusculoskeletal conditions. A variety of TrPtDN techniques will be taught, enabling the practitioner to diagnose and safely treat NMS conditions with confidence.
