Starks Counseling & Consultation, LLC had the pleasure of speaking to over 20 young girls at the She Heals summer camp.

Stephanie K. Starks, LISW-S, our CEO & Clinical Director, discussed mental health, trauma and self-care.

The young ladies learned how to tell whether or not you are ok, what signs to look for, and how to seek help if needed.

They also asked questions about pursuing a career in Social Work.

Starks Counseling will be all over the city this summer educating our youth on mental health, trauma and resilience. Stay tuned!

Hope can feel hard to find when life feels heavy—but it is never truly gone. Sometimes it just needs space, community, and intention to rise again.

Join Starks Counseling & Consultation, LLC's May Sacred Circle Group on Saturday, May 16th, from 11 AM–1 PM for a special outdoor healing experience at Taco Bella Farms. In partnership with Beth Herzog and Preshuslee Thompson, MSW, LSW, participants will take part in a guided equine therapy experience focused on becoming more aware of the connection between mind, body, and environment through interacting with horses.

During the group, you’ll have the chance to notice how horses naturally create safety, stay calm, and respond to their surroundings. Participants may also experience a sense of connection and calm alongside the horses and other group members.

We’ll also have a conversation about how trauma can impact our sense of safety, how it affects the nervous system, and how healing in community can help us feel more grounded and supported.

All activities are ground-based, so no riding or horse experience is needed.

This event is free to attend. Participants must provide their own transportation. Gift cards will be provided.

Come join us for a meaningful and memorable day of healing, connection, and hope.

Grief is a natural response to loss—but many of us were never taught how to process it.

Starks Counseling & Consultation, LLC is proud to facilitate a FREE 8-week virtual group, Grief Recovery Method® Support Group.

This evidenced-based support group provides a supportive, structured space to help participants navigate the thoughts, feelings, and actions connected to various types of loss.

The goal of this group is not healing—but completion: helping you address unresolved grief and move forward with greater peace.

It is free to attend, but space is limited.
