With an initial focus on opioids, ASAP is working to develop and implement a data-driven system focused on substance abuse prevention, early intervention, treatment, recovery, and enforcement that substantially reduces the prevalence of substance use disorder (SUD) in Bartholomew County and surrounding areas and helps those with SUD achieve recovery and become or return to being productive, contributing members of their communities.

💊 Keeping Our Community Safe: Responsible Medication Use

Taking medications as prescribed is an important part of staying safe and healthy. This is especially important for older adults who may take multiple medications.

Responsible medication use means:
✔️ Take medications exactly as prescribed.
✔️ Never share prescription medications with others.
✔️ Keep medications stored safely and securely.
✔️ Talk with your healthcare provider or pharmacist about possible side effects or drug interactions.
✔️ Dispose of unused or expired medications safely.

Prescription medication misuse can affect people at any age, including older adults. As we age, we may take multiple medications, making it especially important to understand how medications should be taken and to talk with a healthcare provider or pharmacist about any concerns.

At ASAP, we believe education and prevention can make a difference.
