A meta-analysis of 26 systematic reviews found that acupuncture managed menstrual pain better than drug therapy. This meta-analysis involving 26,459 patients found that women had lower pain scores with acupuncture than those who were taking NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen. This pain relief was also achieved without the adverse effects found in NSAIDs.

My favorite centenarian turns 106 today. Every year around her birthday for the last several years she stops by the clinic, where we surprise her with a cake and everyone in the clinic sings to her. This year, I came to her (wearing a mask of course). She was very happy and surprised.

In a 2019 study, researchers found that acupuncture is beneficial for women with PCOS (polycystic o***y syndrome) undergoing IVF (in-vitro fertilization). They had higher pregnancy rates and better hormonal balance than the control group.

A new comparative effectiveness study from Taiwan shows acupuncture to be beneficial in the treatment of hypertension. Two cohorts comprised the study. The control cohort received antihypertensive medication alone while the second received antihypertensive medication and acupuncture. The acupuncture group had significantly better outcomes that the control group.
