Today, Southeast Healthcare recognizes National Fentanyl Awareness Day, a day of action where hundreds of businesses, nonprofit organizations, schools, and government offices work together to protect Americans from the deadly threat of illicit fentanyl and counterfeit prescription pills.

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid, and even small amounts can be life-threatening. Raising awareness is a critical step in preventing overdose and saving lives.

We encourage our community to stay informed, talk openly about substance use, and support those who may be struggling. Education, compassion, and access to resources can make all the difference.

Southeast Healthcare’s integrated healthcare approach puts the patient at the center of their care, ensuring coordination of primary care, mental health, substance use care, and social drivers of health with all providers working together through intentional collaboration.

We couldn’t do this important work without our incredible team, and today we’re proud to spotlight Sierra White!

Sierra joined Southeast Healthcare in 2019 and now serves as the Clinical Director of Adult, Youth, and Family Services at our Merion Village location. In her role, she oversees our counseling teams, the Ryan White Part B Program, Youth Transition Program, and Youth Prevention Program.

Her journey here hasn’t been a straight path—and that’s what makes it so meaningful. From her early days as a Program Manager at Carpenter House, to Intake, to private practice, and back to Southeast in care coordination, each step has shaped her perspective and strengthened her impact.

Through it all, one thing has remained constant: a deep commitment to meeting the real needs of our community.

We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without a great team, so this month, we are spotlighting a valuable team member – Kaitlyn!

Kaitlyn joined Southeast Healthcare over five years ago and serves as a Mental Health Therapist in the primary classroom at BCAP (Belmont County Alternative Program), working with children typically between the ages of 5–9. In her role, Kaitlyn provides group therapy services during the school day, facilitates activities that help students apply new skills, and supports them through difficult moments. She also collaborates closely with students’ home schools to ensure each child’s needs are met, while assisting with crisis intervention and developing treatment plans that incorporate trauma-informed care.

Kaitlyn has known since high school that she wanted to become a therapist and help others be their best selves. Along the way, her work with students has also helped shape her into the best version of herself as a therapist. Watching these children grow, progress, and thrive is a true honor for her.

Kaitlyn’s dedication helps create a safe, supportive space where young patients can grow and succeed. We’re so grateful for the compassion and commitment she brings to Southeast. Thank you for all that you do!
