Through Inspire and Empower with Dr. J, my mission has always been to encourage women entrepreneurs, leaders, and dreamers to keep going, keep building, and keep believing that their work matters.
Through Physicians Working Together, that same mission extends to medical students and future physicians who need mentorship, visibility, encouragement, and support as they prepare to serve. The MED Gala brought those worlds together in a very special way.
We were honored to welcome physicians, medical students, civic leaders, community partners, and respected voices from across the region. The evening also included the Mayor of neighboring Phenix City, Alabama, and his wife, along with media partners and special guests who helped make the room feel both meaningful and memorable.
We were grateful for the support of iHeartMedia, with DJ Chip helping bring energy to the blue carpet and the celebration that followed. Felicia Hamilton hosted the evening with warmth and professionalism, and we were honored to have Dr. Contessa Metcalfe from Married to Medicine join us, adding a beautiful layer of national visibility and physician representation.
But even with the lights, the music, the blue carpet, and the familiar faces, the purpose remained clear.
We were there to honor legacy and to celebrate service.
We made it our responsibility to remind future physicians that they belong in rooms where leadership, excellence, and mentorship are present.
That is the kind of work I am committed to building. As a physician, author, speaker, entrepreneur, and leader, I believe inspiration must be connected to action. Empowerment must create opportunity. Leadership must make room for others.
As we look ahead to the next MED Gala in Columbus, Georgia, in 2028, I am excited to continue building spaces that inspire, empower, and support the next generation.
