🌟 Success Story 🌟

Beth Campbell came to Mayfair Village Nursing Care Center for PICC line management and rehabilitation after being diagnosed with new onset of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Upon admission, Ms. Campbell needed supervision with all self-care tasks and functional mobility. Her endurance and strength were limited, requiring frequent breaks with tasks, and she was dependent for her PICC line management.

Ms. Campbell's goal was to increase her strength and endurance prior to starting her chemo treatments. She participated in physical and occupational therapy 5 times per week. At discharge, she achieved independence with all self-care and mobility tasks and improved her overall strength and endurance. Nursing provided ongoing daily management of her PICC line and educated Ms. Campbell on how to complete the daily flushes and monitoring site for signs and symptoms of infection. Ms. Campbell demonstrated independence with PICC line management and felt confident in her skills to manage it at home. Ms. Campbell discharged home with her son for extra support while undergoing her chemo treatments.

Ms. Campbell did such a great job in therapy. She was pleased with her progress and was looking forward to not only returning home with the ability to do everyday tasks, but also being able to enjoy playing with her grandson and gardening. ❤️
