If you do not have insurance, you are just as welcome to call MercyMed your medical home. We care for all people with a sense of awe. We know that Christ created every living person in His image and declared his creation “very good.” Therefore, we desire to treat people with respect, love and honor. Since this body, your body, which He created, was in His image, we desire to give it the highest quality healthcare available. We also want to give you healthcare that is affordable. Individuals without insurance will be placed on a sliding scale that will go down to as little as twenty five dollars a visit. MercyMed wants to treat not only your physical ailments, but care for your mental and spiritual wellbeing as well. We will have counseling services as well as people willing to pray with you on site. MercyMed desires you to be healthy physically, emotionally, and spiritually so you can live a life that brings glory to the God who first created you. Never forget that you have hope in Jesus Christ.

Thank you, Dr. Jimmy Brooks! 👏❤️

We are incredibly blessed at MercyMed to have physicians who volunteer their time and talents to serve our patients. Dr. Brooks has been volunteering for so long that he can’t even remember when he started!

He shares that he comes for the laughs, like getting to see Jay Hearn fall out of his chair (just kidding! 😂), but also for the joy of helping restore patients’ sight.

Dr. Brooks helped one patient regain his vision so he could return to work and continue caring for himself and his family. The patient’s gratitude for something many of us take for granted, the ability to see, still humbles Dr. Brooks.

If you’re a provider looking for a meaningful way to serve, we would love to connect with you! Our patients are truly the best, and we’re always looking for skilled, compassionate providers to help care for them. 🩺

There’s something powerful about being able to laugh together, even when life is heavy. ❤️

Jack Baum, MercyMed Chaplain and Patient Support Advocate, leads our weekly mental health support group, where friends can find a safe place for honest conversation, encouragement, practical support, and community as they navigate their mental health.

Looking for a place to start? We’d love to welcome you to a mental health class, Grey Rock Mental Health Support Group, addition recovery support or a counseling session through the link below.

Thank you, Georgia Charitable Care Network, for doing this work alongside us, caring for the whole person with mental health and recovery support.

The smile on Cissy's face says it all. ❤️

The people of MercyMed, the hands and feet of Christ, are what make this ministry such a bright, warm, and safe place for our patients, providers, and staff. And this special lady has been part of that story since the very beginning!

For nearly 12 years, she has faithfully volunteered with MercyMed, spending her time and spiritual gifts praying over our ministry, our providers, and the prayer requests shared by patients and staff. Week after week, she shows up to pray with and for the people who walk through our doors.

“Seeing the Lord work through MercyMed, supplying so many areas of service, adding as the needs arise, and meeting and praying with patients keeps me coming back. The highlight of my week!”

We also love the way our patients serve and how they are willing to share, give, and pray for our team, too.

“Each patient blesses me WAY more than I bless them. I have had several patients ask if they could pray for me. I was humbled, grateful, and incredibly blessed!”

That's the community here at MercyMed. And we are so grateful for the people who make this place what it is. ❤️

Our Director of Mental Health, Aidan Kao, shares that you don't have to be in crisis to benefit from counseling. She shares that sometimes our bodies tell us something isn’t right before we recognize it ourselves.

“Oftentimes, it’s our bodies that tell us something isn't right before we recognize it. Sometimes it can start with sleep struggles, frequent stomach aches, an increase in headaches, or even isolation from others.”

Counseling can help you process and heal from past trauma, recover from addiction, build stronger support systems, develop healthy boundaries, learn effective communication skills, and simply feel better mentally and emotionally.

Counseling doesn’t have to be something you turn to only when life reaches a breaking point. It can be a place to better understand what you’re experiencing, learn practical tools, and find support as you move forward.

If you’ve been wondering whether counseling could be helpful for you or someone you love, we’d love to serve you!

Proverbs 11:14: “Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”

📞 Call 706-507-9209 to learn more or schedule an appointment with Aidan or another member of our counseling team. You can also read more about our counselors and wellness services here: mercymedcolumbus.com/health-services/counseling/

Meshia Lawrence is part of our amazing back office team at MercyMed on Steam Mill Road. She gets a behind-the-scenes look every day at what it means to care for our patients and the difference your generosity makes.

Recently, Meshia saw that care in action when a patient came to MercyMed in urgent need of medical care but had no health insurance.

“Following the traumatic loss of a loved one, she required specific support and medication to begin feeling like herself again. Because of our resources, we were able to get her seen immediately and provide the necessary medications to aid her recovery.”

That's what your gifts help us do!

“Your generosity makes a difference daily, allowing us to continue serving our patients and the community with vital healthcare services.”

❤️ Will you help us continue being here for patients when they need us most?

Whether you're managing diabetes or high blood pressure, working toward a healthier weight, or simply wanting to feel better, our dietitian, Jamie Benefield, can help you set realistic nutrition goals that fit your health needs and your life.

All you need to get started is a referral from your physician.
