Today was a wonderful day at the Mount Mitchell Craft Fair in Burnsville. AdventHealth is proud to serve as the title sponsor of this cherished community event, hosted by the Burnsville-Yancey County Chamber of Commerce.

Our team loved connecting with community members and enjoying all that makes this event special — more than 200 vendors, live music, local food, and handmade crafts that celebrate mountain heritage and hometown hospitality.

Please join us in celebrating Zhargal from Environmental Services for living our Make It Easy service standard.

When unexpected patient movement created additional room turnover needs late in the evening, Zhargal stepped in without hesitation. Even though his shift was ending, he stayed late to prepare three patient rooms and help make the transition smoother for the next patients who needed them.

His humility, positive attitude and willingness to help made a meaningful difference for patients and teammates alike.

Pregnancy brings a lot of changes, and it can be hard to know what is normal and what is not.
Heavy bleeding, severe headache, vision changes, decreased baby movement, leaking fluid, or trouble breathing are all reasons to call your provider right away.

Keeping Patients Safe, Every Step Home

When a patient was preparing to go home, it was discovered they needed home oxygen to be discharged safely. Although it was after hours, Serenity Avent, Case Management Supervisor, answered the call for help and quickly coordinated with the oxygen provider and on-call delivery team to ensure the equipment reached the patient's home that evening.

Because of Serenity's commitment and collaboration, the patient was able to return home safely without an unnecessary overnight hospital stay.

Thank you, Serenity, for living our Keep Me Safe Service Standard and helping patients receive the care they need when it matters most.
