Last night I hosted a webinar on dream work, and it reminded me why this is some of the most meaningful work I do with clients.
A lot of people ask me if they could just plug a dream into an AI chatbot instead of working with a therapist. I get why it's tempting... it's fast, it's free, and it feels like an answer. But what it gives you is your own words reflected back at you, not real understanding. There's no felt sense in the room, no relationship, no one who actually knows your history and can sit with what comes up in their heart and soul.
Dream work, done well, draws on intuition, body awareness, emotion, and the relationship between therapist and client. It's the kind of things that take years of clinical training to hold safely. That's not something a chatbot can offer you.
I made this image last night of a woman staring into a mirror at something that isn't quite alive. That's what it can feel like getting "insight" from something that's just mirroring you back to yourself.
If you've been curious about dream work, I'd love for you to check out the replay from last night's webinar: send me a message and I'll send you the link.
And if you're looking for an ongoing space to explore your dreams with real support, I'm opening my monthly Dream Group to new members now and enrollment closes Monday, July 27th.
