✨ Sorry for the long post, but this milestone warrants it! ✨

This past week, Skintalk turned 3 years old! ❤️‍🔥

I’ve been kind of absent from posting lately, but honestly, I’d rather have our conversations here be of true value than post just for the sake of it. As a solo practitioner, I have to weigh where my time is spent most efficiently, and I think many of you would agree that making time in the treatment room should come before making time for social media. 🥰

I’m incredibly grateful for this community, and these past few years have taught me a lot!

I would say my biggest inner battle this past year has been finding the balance between my old sense of self and where I want this practice to go. The education I’ve been lucky enough to experience has changed my treatment process on so many levels—as many of you can surely tell. Bodywork is such a unique tool, but no matter what changes in the treatment room, the thought I have at the front of every treatment is that I will always, always, want the best outcome for you.

For those of you who have been with me since the beginning of my bodywork career, you know just how much things have changed. It has taken years to find what works well in treatment while also learning how to take care of my own body so I can continue taking care of yours.

So many of you have been open to trying new methods, and for that I am incredibly grateful. Your willingness to explore, trust the process, and learn about your own body has helped me grow as a provider and has shaped your treatments into what they are today.

There have been so many amazing experiences, conversations, connections, and honestly… so much love since opening my private practice.

Thank you for choosing to be here.
Thank you for choosing me to be part of this chapter in your healing journey.

Even through all the waves of change, my priority has always remained the same: making this work the very best it can be for you.

Thank you for being here, thank you for listening, and know that I have so much love and gratitude for all of you.

Here’s to many more years of growth! ❤️‍🔥🧡

With so much love,

Arleta & Gwennie 🐾

Very special friend of Skintalk, Kayla at Specific Health Massage Therapy LLC. Please consider thoughts, positive vibes, or donating to this family!

Don’t mean to get personal, but donating is a cause dear to us and trying to make a difference in helping in anyway.

Next week, 50% of all proceeds from our appointments booked will be donated to my sister and her family as they navigate the aftermath of a terrible car accident with severe injuries.

Thank you for supporting my small business and helping my sisters family during an incredibly difficult time.

Every appointment booked next week makes a difference. ❤️

I just want to take a moment to say thank you to all of my clients for being so understanding this past week 🧡

Many of you knew I was heading to Sedona for an education seminar—but I don’t think I could have fully prepared for everything this trip ended up being!

Arizona was beautiful, and the seminar itself was really interesting and something I’ve never experienced before. Unfortunately, the Midwest blizzard kept me in Arizona a few extra days due to flight cancellations, which meant I had to cancel a few days of appointments once I got back.

Through all of the stress (and what honestly felt like a bad game of Sims 😅), you guys showed so much kindness and support—just wanting to make sure I was safe and getting home okay. That meant more to me than you know.

I’m also incredibly grateful for Kyle and my family for helping me get through the tail end of the trip. What was supposed to be a week somehow felt like a year by the end of it!

If anything, this week was a reminder of how important it is to stay grounded and look for the bright side—even when things don’t go as planned.

Thank you all again for your patience, support, and understanding. I truly have the best clients.

No more trips for me for a little while 🤣 I’m so excited to be back and have a lot to share about I learned!

I don’t do a whole lot of personal posts on my business page - I really like to keep this space for you guys! 🌞

But since today is my birthday, I thought it would be a great day to share Gwen and I’s fun at Indian Lake today 🧡 I love my hiking buddy! 3.1 mile loop with my sweet girl.

Happy Monday to you all and I hope it’s a beautiful week for each of you. I love doing some self care on my birthday and today’s self care was nature 🌺 🍃 🌬️

Most people aren't sure if they will benefit from a lymphatic drainage treatment…
Until they realize how off their body has been feeling.

If you ever feel like:

-Your jeans fit one day and feel two sizes smaller a couple days later 👖

-You’re always “tight” no matter how much you stretch

-Your calves/limbs feel stiff or heavy

-You deal with bloating, headaches, or sluggish digestion

-Your body just feels dense instead of spacious

That’s fluid imbalance 💧

Lymphatic drainage helps your body move excess fluid, reduce inflammation, and create space again — not by forcing anything, but by supporting what your body already wants to do.

People are often surprised by how much this work helps with:
• bloating & GI issues
• headaches & sinus pressure
• fluid retention in the legs
• feeling less puffy overall
• breathing more freely
• skin looking clearer and healthier
• supporting weight-loss journeys
• feeling lighter and more at home in their body ✨

I say this all the time:
If your clothes fit one day and suddenly don’t the next — that’s not weight gain, that’s fluid.

And yes… lymphatic work helps with THAT 👀

This isn’t a “luxury” treatment.
It’s foundational support your body benefits from whether you realize it yet or not 🤍🌀

One of my favorite holidays because I love chocolate, everything pink, and honestly… I just love love! 🥰🎀💗🍫

My practice has evolved a lot over the years.

As I learn more — and as I watch what actually helps you — my philosophy on healing keeps shifting. One thing I’m constantly navigating is this:

Do we chase quick fixes that feel amazing right away?
Or do we focus on long-term solutions for pain?

Most of the time, I choose long-term.

We all love that instant relief of deep massage. But when you come back month after month with the same pain, I can’t help but want more for you.

I’m not here to just help you relax for an hour and send you on your way.
I’m here to help your body move better so pain isn’t running the show.

That can look like:
• stretch therapy to restore movement
• lymphatic work to reduce heaviness and inflammation
• cupping to help fascia glide instead of feeling stuck
• scraping to offload muscles that are doing way too much
• craniosacral therapy to help you feel grounded and bring down anxiety

The goal isn’t “perfect.”
The goal is being able to live your life without your body constantly pushing back.

I’m here to support you — and sometimes gently challenge you — as you move toward a healthier version of yourself.

What do you give yourself absolute permission to do?

For me, it started with walking.

Lately, I’ve been craving more movement but kept telling myself I didn’t have the time and “next month would be easier”. So I came up with an idea to start going to the gym before work — and honestly, getting out the door before 6:30am is no small thing for me. I didn’t set expectations or goals. I just told myself: if I can make it there for 10 minutes to walk, I showed up for myself today.

That was it.
That was the permission.

That small choice — giving myself permission to move my body before I help you care for yours — has slowly turned into something really beautiful. It’s given me a sense of agency over the most important thing we have in this world: time.

So what do you give yourself permission to do this year?

To read more?
To sleep more?
To move your body again?
To dance? To create? To explore?

And maybe — just maybe — what you need most this year is permission to let something go.
You don’t need to sacrifice parts of yourself to feel free.

You just need permission. ✨

January… this is Ground Zero ☯️

January isn’t about rushing into change for me — new year’s resolutions, new rules, new expectations of how we can “be better.”

The whole "New Year, New You" idea has never really worked for me. To me, a new year is an opportunity to embrace who you are — not to wipe the slate clean and forget all the versions of you that came before this one. It’s about coming back to baseline and reconnecting with yourself.

The Earth is a year older, and if you are too, that is a blessing. This time is for those of you who thought you’d never make it into a new year — or even prayed you never would.

This is the month where we pause, assess, and listen — to our bodies, our nervous systems, and what we actually need after a long year. Healing doesn’t start with pushing harder. It starts with rest, repair, and honest awareness of how you’re really feeling.

You don’t need a full reset or a perfectly planned routine right now. Sometimes the most supportive thing you can do is slow down enough to notice what feels depleted and what feels supportive. From there, everything else becomes clearer.

We don’t rush healing here.
We assess. We listen. We rest.

Let January be an open door for you — open to opportunities, open to rest, and open to healing ❤️‍🩹

I’ve had a space open up this week, and it just might be your sign that some self-care is needed. The holidays are behind us, and as we land into the new year, our bodies often ask for a reset before our minds do.

This session could be used to support things like:
• TMJ or jaw tension
• Tight shoulders or neck pain
• Low back discomfort
• Headaches
• Sluggishness or fluid retention from disrupted routines
• Digestive or GI-related tension

If it feels like your body has been asking for a little repair, this is a beautiful time to reset your nervous system and reconnect with yourself.
