We are the first aquarium to be designated a Certified Autism Center - any of our guests on the autism spectrum or other sensory needs can enjoy the best possible visit. We train our front-line staff and volunteers on working with guests on the spectrum and offer free options:

⭐ Sensory bags equipped with noise cancelling headsets, sunglasses for light sensitivity, fidget devices, and an “I need/I feel” card, which may be used to help nonverbal individuals communicate with staff.
⭐ Expedited entrance lines at our general admission ticket line.
⭐ Designated quiet zones throughout the Aquarium to help individuals decompress.
⭐ The first hour of everyday are sensory friendly hours with dimmed lights and no music.

Diana with Fifty-Two Communities will focus on the application for the NOW/COMP Waiver. Step-by-step directions and page by page on how to find the application and what to put on the application, as well as what supporting documentation is needed.

*Participants will stay muted and off camera. Any questions can be added to the Chat box for Diana to answer at the end of the workshop.

*This workshop will be recorded and shared publicly, please remember this when sharing information in the chat box. The recording will be available on the FOCUS Workshop page within the week.
