Dr. David Aguilar is a professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, specializing in cardiology, cardiovascular disease prevention and cardiometabolic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and obesity.

He is a fellow of the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology. He also serves on the editorial boards of several renowned medical journals, and previously led work in healthy aging and longevity at LSU Health New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dr. Aguilar has delivered numerous national and international presentations and published more than 100 academic articles, reviews and book chapters related to his areas of expertise.

Five people died and another is in critical condition after a series of drug-related incidents in Columbus. Police say the cases are linked to cychlorphine, a synthetic opioid the DEA says can be 10 times more potent than fentanyl.

Dr. Eduardo Sanchez is Chief Medical Officer for Prevention for the American Heart Association, whose National Center is in Dallas, Texas. Through his work with the National Hypertension Control Initiative and Target:BP, Dr. Sanchez has worked to raise awareness and improve treatment of high blood pressure, a top health concern for the Hispanic and Latino community.

Before joining the Heart Association, Dr. Sanchez was commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services and chief medical officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. He serves on numerous local, state and national health-related boards of directors and advisory committees.
